camping pod "Krûpelhintsje" A so-called camping pod in the model of a ladybug (Krûpelhintsje in fries). A place created for a real "insect hotel" as accommodation! With a beautiful view over the meadows and a space next to it: terrace in the grass. The camping pod has a kitchenette with a one-burner electric stove, coffee maker, kettle, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, refrigerator and a made-up double bed with a window above it including a mosquito net. All windows have blackout and solar blinds. There are a number of electrical outlets. The camping pod has its own shower with toilet and sink. A sitting area ensures that you can also stay inside without too much camping. In short, everything within reach in a basic setting so that some camping feeling remains. Double bed with comforter and 2 pillows with cover.
Nature and surroundings
"Slappeterp" in a nutshell, how it once began... Around the era the Frisians were still fleeing from the water. However, they did not give up and built meters-high mounds and salt marsh dikes with the help of monks. On the border of water (the then Middelzee) and rich clay, Frisians and Dutch built their homes and sowed their fields. They professed their faith in simple or baroque houses of worship, some of which now lie tottering on the partly excavated mounds. Such a village "Slappeterp" must have once originated that way: in all probability, the name Slappeterp originated from a "Sleeping Mound." A mound that no longer had a service. In this unique area where grazing cows, flowering potato fields, salt marshes, culture and history come together. The Planetarium in Franeker must be visited!!! Slappeterp is beautifully centrally located between Leeuwarden, Harlingen, Dokkum, Sneek and Bolsward. In this area is enough to do to spend a few days.
