Welcome to our cottage (48 square meters), located in the woods in our garden. The decoration is simple but cozy and there is a wood stove. During a summer evening you can enjoy the view of the beautiful Hogeland from the terrace. The cottage has two bedrooms with two double beds (twins). The bathroom is equipped with a shower and toilet. Don't worry about unwanted insects: all windows are equipped with solid mosquito nets. There is private parking for one car, and bicycles can be safely stored in the bike shed. The neighborhood bus stops just 200 meters away. We recommend booking the cottage for a maximum of two adults (plus possibly one or two children), as the interior spaces are small and hot water (due to the heat pump boiler) is limited.
Nature and surroundings
From the nature house you step directly into the Groningen countryside. The Broeksterkleiweg turns into quiet bike paths and is only accessible to local traffic. Explore the area via the many beautiful bicycle routes that start right from the front door. The cottage borders the Broekstermaar, ideal for a quiet canoe trip. Canoes can be rented in nearby Wehe-Den-Hoorn (3 km). Here you will also find the Waddenfun Adventure Park, or pay a visit to Arts Center 'De Ploeg' for a dose of culture. Just fifteen minutes away by bike is the sea dyke, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Wadden. From Pieterburen you can go mudflat hiking or start the Pieterpad. In Leens (6 km) the Borg Verhildersum and the DoeZoo are recommended. In this village you will also find an outdoor swimming pool. By car you are in fifteen minutes in Lauwersoog. Here you can visit the seals, enjoy the national park, or take the ferry to Schiermonnikoog.

Jenny August 7, 2025 General rating:We are B&B holders ourselves and therefore looked at the furnishings with different eyes. Here a few points from a long list: the lighting was poor, there were no bedside tables, the outlets were all extended with an extension box. No closet space and hangers. TV hidden in chest. Messy dishes: no glass was the same. The hems of the curtains were pasted and not nicely finished. (I would have liked to do this if I had a sewing machine) At the kitchen faucet, hot and cold water were reversed. Outside there was little sun due to the many trees and bushes. The microwave was too high and the refrigerator too low. Well, I'll leave it at that. We did have nice days, despite the issues we encountered. We did not see the manager again, but we left a bill with our most important findings.

Nou, hier laat ik het bij. Wij hebben wel fijne dagen gehad, ondanks de zaken die wij tegen kwamen. De beheerder hebben wij niet meer gezien, maar we hebben een briefje neer gelegd met onze belangrijkste bevinden.Nature, peace & environment:We had a lovely peaceful weekend. The cottage was just new and we were the second guests.
Wij hebben een heerlijk rustig weekendje gehad. Het huisje was net nieuw en wij waren de tweede gasten.
