Mountshannon cottage is located in a rural scenic area, 2 km.from Mountshannon village in east Clare in the mud West of Ireland.It is located in 0.5 hectare site adjacent to owners house.There is a wildflower meadow in front of the cottage adjacent to patio area.At the entrance leading to the cottage there is a large Lavender plot of 360 Lavender plants.

Nature and surroundings

A four minute walk from the cottage leads you to Knockaphort harbour .Here you can swim and you can see the monastic island of Iniscealtra 300 metres from the shore. You can get a boat ride in Summer season from the harbour in Mountshannon village. Iniscealtra interpretative centre at Mountshannon harbour gives you a tour of the history of Iniscealtra or Holy Island Some of the electricity in the cottage is supplied via solar panels.We also have an EV Zappi charger which guests can avail of to charge their electric vehicles for payment One kilometer from the cottage is Woodpark Forest Park.Here there are some trails for walking.Mountshannon village is 2 km from the cottage.There is a small grocery store and petrol station here.
