Nature house in Gellik

A really nice nature house, with a super cute interior and fully equipped. Absolutely perfect for 2 people! The bedroom with bunk beds (3 of them) seemed a bit cramped to us, but we didn’t need to use it. On the second-to-last day, we had a power outage, likely due to the extreme heat. It lasted a few hours, but fortunately it was resolved eventually, and we had a pleasant conversation with the landlord about it!

Erg leuk natuurhuisje, met een superleuke inrichting en van alle gemakken voorzien. Voor 2 personen echt top! De slaapkamer met stapelbedden (3 stuks) kwam op ons wel wat krap over, maar daar hebben wij geen gebruik van hoeven maken. Op de ena laatste dag viel bij ons de stroom uit, waarschijnlijk door de extreme hitte. Dit heeft een aantal uur geduurd maar was gelukkig uiteindelijk weer opgelost en daarover ook prettig contact gehad met de verhuurder!

The chalet is cozy and equipped with air conditioning. The sofa is comfortable. Only downside was that there was no dishwasher.

Het chalet is gezellig ingericht en voorzien van een airco. De bank zit lekker. Enige minpunt was dat er geen vaatwasser was.

Had good stay in the green area with fully fenced garden. Nice that it is directly adjacent to a hiking area and close to nice towns.

Goed verblijf gehad in de groene omgeving met volledig omheinde tuin. Fijn dat het direct aan een wandelgebied grenst en dichtbij leuke steden ligt.

Our overall experience with the nature house was unfortunately disappointing. The cottage felt too small for five adults and problems with the sewer system had a major impact on the comfort of our stay. There was a distinct odor nuisance over the weekend and sink, shower and kitchen drains were becoming increasingly difficult to drain. We reported this in a constructive and polite manner and appreciated that an initial attempt was made to do something. Unfortunately, the problem remained and there was no further response after our last feedback. For a stay of this price range, we expected the basic amenities to function correctly.

Onze algemene ervaring met het natuurhuisje was helaas teleurstellend. Het huisje voelde te klein aan voor vijf volwassenen en de problemen met de riolering hadden een grote impact op het comfort van ons verblijf. Er was gedurende het weekend duidelijke geurhinder aanwezig en lavabo, douche en keukenafvoer liepen steeds moeilijker door.
We hebben dit op een constructieve en beleefde manier gemeld en appreciëren dat er initieel geprobeerd werd iets te ondernemen. Jammer genoeg bleef het probleem aanwezig en kwam er na onze laatste feedback geen verdere reactie meer.
Voor een verblijf van deze prijsklasse hadden we verwacht dat de basisvoorzieningen correct zouden functioneren.

The area itself is beautiful, quiet and pleasantly located in nature. Unfortunately, the sense of tranquility during our stay was greatly disturbed by the persistent odor nuisance of the sewage system in the cottage. Also, constantly having to deal with badly flowing drains and trying to unclog them did not exactly make for a relaxing stay. In addition, we found the cottage very cramped for five adult men. One of our friends actually ended up sleeping in his car because the top bunk in the second room felt very cramped and claustrophobic.

De omgeving zelf is mooi, rustig en aangenaam gelegen in de natuur. Helaas werd het gevoel van rust tijdens ons verblijf sterk verstoord door de aanhoudende geurhinder van de riolering in het huisje. Ook het voortdurend bezig zijn met slecht doorlopende afvoeren en proberen ontstoppen zorgde niet bepaald voor een ontspannen verblijf.

Daarnaast vonden we het huisje erg krap voor vijf volwassen mannen. Eén van onze vrienden heeft uiteindelijk zelfs in zijn auto geslapen omdat het bovenste bed in de tweede kamer erg benauwend en claustrofobisch aanvoelde.
