Welcome to the Elsbusch farm in Holtorf on the Elbe. We offer individual vacation opportunities for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet. Our natural garden is a habitat for many plants and animals. Observe the many wild bees in our meadows or the barn owl on its evening excursion from the barn. Our farm offers many opportunities to relax: in the hammock lounge, on a quiet bench at the edge of the field or on the apartment's own terrace. We are located in the middle of the Lower Saxony Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve and on the Green Belt, the former inner-German border. A lovely cottage. Much bigger than we expected, with a beautiful terrace overlooking the large pond. We were able to store our bikes in the shed.

It sits on the grounds of a former farmstead with a large communal garden that includes a space with maps and brochures, hammocks, a large pond, and an observation tower from which we saw cranes standing in the field every day. White-tailed eagles, red kites, and ravens flew overhead from time to time. Every day, dozens of birds came to the pond to drink and bathe.
The immediate surroundings are perfect for cycling, and you can spot plenty of birds (large numbers of red-backed shrikes, yellowhammers, kites, and storks), animals (foxes, beavers, roe deer), butterflies, and more. Apart from the sound of the many birds, it’s very quiet and peaceful on the roads and the numerous bike paths. That tranquility has its downside, though. There aren’t many restaurants or cafes, and those that are open often have limited hours.
