In a special place at the very back of our yard you can come and spend the night in our Pipowagen. The wagon has a double raised bed of 140x210cm, a kitchenette with 2 hotplates and a refrigerator. All kitchen utensils, incl coffee, tea, salt and pepper and olive oil are provided. You have your own eco toilet and shower, in a separate adjacent cart. You can also take a nice cold shower outside! In winter you fire up the wood stove, in summer you open the doors and listen to the sounds of the many birds. You are in the middle of nature with beautiful views of meadows with wooded banks, you experience the weather on the spot. The sun rises on one side and visibly sets on the other. Would you like to come with 2 extra people? Then bring your own tent and sleeping equipment. There is plenty of room to stand by the Wagon in total privacy! Halfway across our yard is another Nature House, the Stable. Suitable to book both with a group or a large family.
Nature and surroundings
De Wagen is located in Donkerbroek in the most southeastern tip of Friesland. Groningen and Drenthe are just around the corner. The landscape is special: no endless meadows and lakes, but rather many woods and tree walls, interspersed with meadows. Surrounded by beautiful nature reserves where it is excellent walking or cycling. Lauswolt, Olterterp, Duurswouderheide, Fochteloerveen, National Park Drents-Friese Wold including Appelscha. The prison village Veenhuizen, brewery Maallust, a day of sauna in Boijl, the picturesque village Oldeberkoop. There are 2 excellent MTB routes and on the Tjonger you can enjoy supping. Who wants to rent a boat to go on the Frisian Lakes: Drachten offers it! And who wants to go to town: within half an hour you are in Leeuwarden or Groningen. A day trip to the islands.....that's not too far either!
