Hjemmebu: where you immediately feel at home, even far from home. The name says it all - 'Hjemmebu' comes from the Norwegian expression for "feel at home." And that is exactly what this lodge does: embrace you with peace, warmth and comfort in the heart of the highlands of Torpo. Here, between mountains and lakes, you will find a place where time slows down and nature breathes before your eyes. The lodge is furnished in a contemporary style with great attention to atmosphere and coziness. You can feel that in everything: from the thoughtful lighting to the materials and colors that give the space character. The owners, Anke and Geert, also run an interior design business in Belgium and you immediately notice this love for aesthetics. The result is a modern yet homely retreat, equipped with all the comforts for carefree enjoyment. Hjemmebu can accommodate up to eight guests, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen - all on one level. Large windows let in the landscape.
Nature and surroundings
Surrounding the lodge are two spacious terraces: at the front, you can enjoy panoramic mountain views by the firepit, while at the back, under the covered terrace, you can sit cozily by the outdoor fireplace. Think long evenings under a heat lamp, with a glass of wine, surrounded by silence. Feel at Home in Norway also means outdoor living in every season, and the lodge offers both relaxation and adventure. You have a private sauna, sports equipment and lakes. Whether you want to relax or just dive into nature - everything is literally at your fingertips. Hjemmebu is located in Hallingdal, a region known as one of Norway's most versatile vacation destinations. The surroundings are impressive: from fjords and waterfalls to rugged mountains and vast forests. In winter, you'll be at the ski resorts of Hemsedal and Geilo in no time, while in summer you can hike, bike, fish or raft endlessly. It is a place that lives and inspires all year round.
