Welcome to our nature house at Mont Beuvray. At the end of a dirt road and on the border of a Natura2000 area, you will find this unique chalet. Here you will find space around you, silence and peace, in the middle of the rugged nature of the Morvan. Silence is interrupted only by the sounds of birds, the rustling of leaves and if the wind is right, the babbling of the river La Roche down in the valley. At night you can hear the calls of owls, badgers and deer. An ideal place for a retreat, yoga or writing a book. Hiking and biking are more than fine from the chalet. From the veranda there is a great view over the surrounding mountains of Le Morvan and one can see far into the valley. The plot consists of a piece of forest and a wild meadow where we mow some paths in season to leave the rest alone for the animals. Gîte Beuvray has a BIO sawdust toilet and is not suitable for disabled people.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in the south of 'Le Parc Régional du Morvan', a beautiful natural park where silence and night-time darkness can still be found. The lack of light pollution makes for excellent observation of the Milky Way and the starry sky. Here nature still dictates, meandering streams feed lakes, herds of cows run outside 360 days a year with calves and bulls. Hiking, biking, swimming or kayaking/supping and fishing, for the true outdoorsmen there is an incredible amount to do here. Our chalet is a 50 minute walk to Bibracte on top of Mont Beuvray. This open-air park is free to enter and all archaeological sites are accessible. Around the chalet there are many kilometers of hiking trails in the forests and along streams, including the Morvantrail. Furthermore, in Le Morvan there are more than enough places to discover in nature and / or history. Just a few hours from NL in the middle of peaceful nature.
