The house is located 2 km outside the small village of Chissey-en-Morvan. As the last house on a quiet road with little traffic, you will enjoy silence and sounds of nature here. In spring and autumn you can hear the stream that flows 30 meters in front of the house. The three-star gîte is located in the former stable of a 19th-century farmhouse. Next to the gîte is a second cozy gîte in use, also found through Nature House. From the living room and bedroom you have a view of the meadow and the edge of the forest. There is a good internet connection. On your own terrace, enjoy the sunset over the valley. Homemade honey and jam are for sale. Depending on the season, ingredients from the kitchen garden are available. A place to unwind and a great base for walks or trips in the region. Bed linen and towels are included.
Nature and surroundings
In the forest around the house live deer, wild boar, badgers, foxes, wildcat and several interesting birds. At night you can hear the tawny owl and the little owl. There are many hiking opportunities nearby. The village of Chissey en Morvan has a grocery store and a post office. Chissey en Morvan is between Saulieu and Autun; two cozy old towns with nice little stores, terraces supermarkets and small museums. You are not far from Bibracte where there is an impressive excavation of a Roman city with a modern museum with good explanations and wonderful exhibitions.
