To be honest, we find it hard to put into words how wonderful these days were. We arrived as a small family with our baby, a little tired from everyday life - and after a few hours at Joost, we breathed a sigh of relief for the first time in a long time. There are those places where you just realize: everything fits here. That's exactly how it was. We drank coffee by the water in the morning, watched our little one watch the ducks, ate on the terrace in the evening and just talked, laughed and didn't have to do anything. Joost made us feel welcome without being intrusive - friendly, warm and always there when we needed him. We actually had a little lump in our throats when we were packing on the day we left. We already know that we will be back. Thank you, Joost, for this little break, which was much more than just a vacation.

Ehrlich gesagt fällt es uns schwer, in Worte zu fassen, wie schön diese Tage waren. Wir sind als kleine Familie mit unserem Baby angereist, ein bisschen müde vom Alltag – und nach wenigen Stunden bei Joost haben wir das erste Mal seit Langem wieder richtig durchgeatmet. Es gibt diese Orte, an denen man einfach merkt: hier passt alles. Genau so war's. Wir haben morgens Kaffee am Wasser getrunken, unserer Kleinen beim Beobachten der Enten zugesehen, abends auf der Terrasse gegessen und einfach geredet, gelacht und nichts gemusst. Joost hat uns das Gefühl gegeben, willkommen zu sein, ohne aufdringlich zu wirken – freundlich, herzlich und immer da, wenn man ihn brauchte. Beim Packen am Abreisetag hatten wir tatsächlich einen kleinen Kloß im Hals. Wir wissen jetzt schon, dass wir wiederkommen. Danke, Joost, für diese kleine Auszeit, die viel mehr war als nur Urlaub.

Peace and quiet is in short supply in everyday life with a baby - but we finally found it again here. On the very first evening, we sat on the jetty, listened to the water and felt like we were in another world. No cars, no stress, just birds, the rustling of the weeping willow in the wind and the occasional family of wild geese floating by. Our little one watched the sheep with their lambs in the meadow opposite with fascination, and we just... did nothing. That was perfect. In the evening, it was so quiet that you could almost hear the stars. Rarely have we felt so grounded - as if someone had pressed the pause button. The nature around Joost's cottage is not loud or spectacular, but calming in a very quiet, beautiful way. Just what a small family like ours needed.

Ruhe ist im Alltag mit Baby ja eher Mangelware – aber hier haben wir sie endlich wiedergefunden. Schon am ersten Abend saßen wir auf dem Steg, hörten dem Wasser zu und hatten das Gefühl, in einer anderen Welt zu sein. Keine Autos, kein Stress, nur Vögel, das Rascheln der Trauerweide im Wind und ab und zu eine Familie Wildgänse, die vorbeischwamm. Unsere Kleine hat fasziniert die Schafe mit ihren Lämmern auf der Wiese gegenüber beobachtet, und wir haben einfach… nichts gemacht. Genau das war perfekt. Abends wurde es so still, dass man die Sterne fast hören konnte. Selten haben wir uns so geerdet gefühlt – als hätte jemand den Pausenknopf gedrückt. Die Natur rund um Joosts Häuschen ist nicht laut oder spektakulär, sondern auf eine ganz leise, schöne Art beruhigend. Genau das, was eine kleine Familie wie unsere gebraucht hat.
