A truly beautiful spot in an oasis of tranquility, surrounded by the sound of crickets and the pygmy owl in the evening. The cottage is tastefully and thoughtfully furnished, with several fans for times of unexpected extreme heat—as was the case for us—as well as a wood stove and an extra heater for colder weather. We have great admiration for Bastiaan and Jorien, who have breathed new life into such a beautiful place. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy it with them—though Simon can’t wait for winter to come again, haha.

Bijzonder mooie plek in een oase van rust omgeven met het geluid van krekels en de dwerguil in de avond. Het huisje is met smaak en aandacht ingericht met meerdere ventilatoren in tijden van onverwachte extreme hitte in ons geval maar ook met een houtkachel en extra kachel voor koudere tijden. Veel bewondering voor Bastiaan en Jorien die zo’n mooie plek tot een nieuw leven hebben gebracht. Het was heel fijn om daarvan mee te mogen genieten Simon kan echter niet wachten tot het weer winter wordt haha.

Last bit of road is a bit difficult though.

It is really n fantastic nature house, in the middle of naturer,utter peace and nice owner. Vultures and snake eagles above the house. Rarely slept so well.

Het is werkelijk n fantastisch natuurhuisje, middenin de natuurr,volkomen rust en leuke eigenaar. Gieren en slangenarenden boven het huis. Zelden zo lekker geslapen.

This house is not suitable for winter. I was there in late Dec / early January. There was a wood stove and wood ready, but it was clear from the temperature that no one had been there for a while. I fired up all the wood that was ready the first evening (why not light it before I came?) At the end of the evening t wood was gone and still stone cold. The next morning I said this is no do and left. No compensation was offered (I had paid in advance for 5 nights). Landlord's response: Sorry to read that your stay went the way it did, we are genuinely annoyed that you couldn't get the cottage warm. If we had known this during your stay, we would have been happy to help you fire up the wood stove properly. Unfortunately, without consultation, you decided to leave and book something elsewhere, so we didn't get that chance. We regret that, as we would have liked to have resolved this together.

Dit huis is niet geschikt voor de winter. Ik was er eind dec / begin januari. Er stond een houtkachel en er lag hout klaar, maar aan de temperatuur was duidelijk dat er al een tijd niemand was geweest. Ik heb de eerste avond al het hout opgestookt dat klaar lag (waarom niet even aangestoken voordat ik kwam?) Aan het einde van de avond was t hout op en nog steeds steenkoud. De volgende ochtend heb ik gezegd dat dit geen doen is en ben ik vertrokken. Er werd geen compensatie aangeboden (ik had vooruitbetaald voor 5 nachten).

Reactie van de verhuurder:

Jammer om te lezen dat je verblijf zo is verlopen, we vinden het oprecht vervelend dat je het huisje niet warm kreeg. Als we dit tijdens je verblijf hadden geweten, hadden we je graag geholpen met het goed opstoken van de houtkachel. Helaas heb je zonder overleg besloten te vertrekken en elders iets te boeken, waardoor we die kans niet hebben gekregen. Dat betreuren we, want we hadden dit graag samen opgelost.
