With only three accommodations, this is definitely not a standard campsite but a place for people looking for nature, peace and space. This is an ideal base to fully enjoy the nature of the Achterhoek! At Laaken op Zand we believe that recreation does not have to come at the expense of nature - on the contrary. Every overnight stay contributes a bit to restoring, preserving and enriching the landscape we enjoy together.
Nature and surroundings
On a cover sand ridge between the Onderlaatse Laak and the Vierakkerse Laak lies nature reserve 'Laaken op Zand'. The area is known for its characteristic coulisse landscape: an alternation of forests, meadows, fields, hedgerows and meandering streams. This natural diversity makes the area ideal for hiking and cycling. The site borders the nature reserve Het Grote Veld. Originally a vast moorland, the area is now largely wooded with coniferous and deciduous trees, interspersed with heathland.
