This natural cottage consists of two dwellings, a stone house and an annex. It is located in the middle of the woods of Monte Sant'Egidio, 700 meters above sea level, near Cortona. The annex is a house bordered by a large garden and an above-ground swimming pool. The two properties are connected by an exclusive garden, equipped for a pleasant and relaxing vacation. It features a wood-burning oven, barbecue, stone tables, a large lawn with aromatic plants, and an above-ground pool. The two lodgings in this natural house, including the garden and pool, are rented exclusively. The first lodging is a historic house from the 1800s, and on the second floor there is a double bedroom, a bathroom, and a living room with a kitchen, and outside is a small courtyard. The second lodging is connected by an exclusive garden and is on the ground floor where there is a double bedroom, a single bedroom with 2/3 beds, a bathroom, and a kitchen/living room. Pets are welcome.
Nature and surroundings
This natural farmhouse is located in the midst of the Apennine woods between Tuscany and Umbria. The road system is typical of this mountainous area with a beautiful panoramic road over the Valdichiana countryside between Cortona and Castiglion Fiorentino. The provincial road from Castiglion Fiorentino (Arezzo) is about 10 km and about 3 km of dirt road, the last 800 m of which are rough. Cars suitable for this type of road are recommended; low cars are not recommended. (A shuttle service is also offered, to be arranged at the time of booking.) There are numerous CAI trails in the area, the Franciscan trail connecting Assisi to the Sanctuary of Chiusi della Verna in Casentino, an ancient path walked by St. Francis. There are also other paths leading to picturesque places and hermitages in the forests of Mount Sant'Egidio. Places to visit include Cortona, Castiglion Fiorentino, Arezzo, Lake Trasimeno, Città di Castello, and Sansepolcro.
