Nature house in Cortona

The owner, Lorenzo, is the best host we’ve ever had. He picked us up at the village upon our arrival—a 20-minute drive from the vacation homes. He led the way and showed us the best route along the path. We also received a delicious bottle of homemade red wine and a jar of homemade honey. He stayed in touch with us via WhatsApp and regularly asked if we needed anything. My son was getting hot at night because of the heat. And after we mentioned this to Lorenzo, he immediately went out to buy a fan and brought it over. Top-notch service and wonderful hospitality!

The three bedrooms are spread across two cottages. The main residence, with its cozy living room and one bedroom, is a 200-year-old farmhouse. It’s truly beautiful in an Italian style—not luxurious, but very authentic. The other cottage with the two bedrooms is cooler in the summer, but a bit less cozy on the inside. Both cottages have a kitchen with a refrigerator and dishwasher.

De eigenaar Lorenzo is de beste verhuurder die wij ooit hebben meegemaakt. Hij haalde ons bij aankomst op bij het dorp, 20 minuten rijden vanaf de vakantiehuisjes. Hij ging ons voor en liet zien hoe je het best over het pad kan rijden. We kregen ook een lekkere zelfgemaakte fles rode wijn en potje zelfgemaakte honing. Hij was via WhatsApp met ons in contact en vroeg regelmatig of we nog wat nodig hadden. Mijn zoon had het warm in de nacht door de hitte. En na dat aangegeven te hebben aan Lorenzo, is hij gelijk een ventilator gaan kopen en komen brengen. Top services en geweldige gastvrijheid!

De drie slaapkamers zijn verdeeld over 2 huisjes. Het hoofdverblijf met de gezellige huiskamer en 1 slaapkamer is een 200 jaar oude boerderij. Echt heel mooi Italiaans. Niet lux maar wel authentiek. Het andere huis met de twee slaapkamers is koeler in de zomer, maar wel iets minder gezellig aan de binnenkant. Beide huisjes hebben een keuken met koelkast en vaatwasser.

The two cottages are situated in a beautiful spot in Tuscany. The only sound you hear there is the chirping of crickets. No cars or other sounds of people to be heard. The garden is beautiful. It was very hot when we were there, and we didn’t do much more than read books on the lounge chairs under the olive trees and, when it got too hot, take a quick dip in the pool to cool off. A very relaxing vacation. The 800-meter driveway took some getting used to at first, but we managed it just fine—even with our low-slung VW Golf station wagon—with a bit of skill behind the wheel. The natural surroundings are beautiful. From the garden, you look out over the valley, which is completely forested. So it’s an absolute must for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet! Especially if you love rustic Italy!

De twee huisjes liggen op een prachtige plek in Toscane. Het enige wat je er hoort is krekels. Geen auto of ander geluid van mensen te horen. De tuin is prachtig. Het was erg heet toen wij er waren en we hebben niet veel meer gedaan dan op de ligstoelen onder de olijfbomen boeken lezen en als het te heet werd, even in het zwembad springen om af te koelen. Erg ontspannen vakantie. De 800 meter oprijlaan was in het begin wat wennen, maar lukte zelfs met onze lage VW Golf Stationwagen prima met wat stuurmanskunsten. De natuur is prachtig. Vanuit de tuin kijk je over het dal dat volledig bebost is. Dus echt voor natuur- en rustliefhebbers een absolute aanrader! Zeker als je van het rustieke Italië houdt!
