We built our nature house in 2023 in the Scandinavian style. It’s located in the northwestern part of our property (>6,000 m²), surrounded by trees. There’s a peaceful garden in front of the porch where you can enjoy the silence, the birds, and—who knows—maybe even a visit from a badger or a roe deer. It’s a lovely spot to unwind, have a good conversation, or read a book. You can enjoy the view of the surrounding area from a bench at the edge of the property. You’ll have all the privacy you need. The cottage is fully equipped and runs on electricity generated by our solar panels. You can cook on a two-burner induction stove. Heating and cooling are provided by a split-system air conditioner. There is one bedroom downstairs with a double bed, which we can also convert into two separate beds. The loft offers space for meditation. A bed is also available there, but the loft is open and accessible only via a simple staircase.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in a beautiful setting, with fields and forests within walking distance. From the garden, you can walk along the sandy path toward the (only!) hunebed in the province of Groningen. One kilometer further on lies the Noordlaarderbos, where you can enjoy a lovely walk.
