This is a Chambres d'hôtes (B&B) with a beautiful garden where every moment of the day you can enjoy a living painting that constantly changes color. The Maitre is a stately mansion from 1906 with 3 B&B rooms located on the outskirts of the village Champallement on a rocky plateau next to an ancient castle with an overwhelming panoramic view to the Morvan. The B&B we offer here is a charming room with closet, chandelier, sitting area, marble fireplace and exterior shutters that keep the room cool. The room has: A large 2-person box spring bed (180 x 200) Bathroom with shower and toilet, hairdryer, shampoo, shower gel and soap A charming balcony with panoramic views and sitting area A suitcase rack, window screen and fan. In the cozy guest room with wood stove and on the terrace we serve breakfast and/or an evening meal.
Nature and surroundings
As you wake up, you see from your balcony the sun rising over the hills of the Morvan, with the castle on your right, the forest to your left and in front of you a wide valley through which the small river Beuvron meanders and narrow roads connecting the few hamlets. You listen to the hum of insects, chirping of birds, the rattle of a farm cart. The Nievre lies between the Morvan and Loire, "the hidden pearl of Burgundy. The surrounding landscape is authentic, lovely and tranquil with many views. A fantastic cycling and walking area! There is very little traffic so all the c- and d-roads together form an endless network of cycling and walking routes. There are many castles to visit, gardens and medieval towns and villages. Champallement is right between the famous pilgrimage town of Vézelay with its iconic cathedral and the famous wine town of Sancerre along the Loire River. Nearby is the canal of Nivernais.
