Through a hedge of greenery you drive to the farmhouse in the middle of nature. Surrounded by forest and located directly on the small river Lende, this location offers privacy, peace and space. Once inside, a large hall gives access to four spacious bedrooms, one of the bathrooms and further on to a cozy living room. The living room has an open connection to a spacious kitchen diner and an additional bathroom. Several "seating areas" and the presence of a wood stove, a large TV, games and a bookcase guarantee cozy evenings. Everywhere is fully equipped, there is good wifi and the location is wheelchair friendly. French doors give access to terraces on both sides of the house. In a separate building there is a wonderful wellness area including a small kitchen which you can use for a reasonable fee.
Nature and surroundings
It is beautiful and very diverse here on the border of Friesland and Drenthe. From the house you step right into the Stuttebos and along the Lende it is wonderful walking or cycling. Just steps away is the quiet Bekhofplas where you can swim or fish. Deer, roe deer, badgers and even the otter has been spotted here. The composition of the soil also provides rare flora and a wide variety of birds. The stream valley is surrounded by more famous nature reserves such as De Weerribben, Het Drents-Friese Wold and 't Dwingelderveld. In terms of cultural history, you can also indulge your passion. The historic village of Oldeberkoop is within cycling distance and right on the plot is the Bekhofschans, a unique remnant of the Frisian Waterline. A cannon found here on the doorstep now marks the entrance to the village. In nearby Frederiksoord you will find the Colonies of Weldadigheid. Afijn, a wonderful setting to build memories together!
