Through a hedge of greenery you drive to the farmhouse in the middle of nature. Surrounded by forest and located directly on the small river Lende, this location offers privacy, peace and space. Once inside, a large hall gives access to four spacious bedrooms, one of the bathrooms and further on to a cozy living room. The living room has an open connection to a spacious and fully equipped kitchen and an additional bathroom. Bed, kitchen and bath linens are included. Several "seating areas" and the presence of a wood stove, a large TV, games and a bookcase guarantee cozy evenings. Everywhere is fully equipped, there is good wifi and the location is wheelchair friendly. French doors give access to terraces on both sides of the house, with a bbq on the garden side as well. In a separate building there is a lovely wellness area including a small kitchen which you can use for a reasonable fee.

Nature and surroundings

It is beautiful and very diverse here on the border of Friesland and Drenthe. From the house you step right into the Stuttebos and along the Lende it is wonderful walking or cycling. Just steps away is the quiet Bekhofplas where you can swim or fish. Deer, roe deer, badgers and even the otter has been spotted here. The composition of the soil also provides rare flora and a wide variety of birds. The stream valley is surrounded by more famous nature reserves such as De Weerribben, Het Drents-Friese Wold and 't Dwingelderveld. In terms of cultural history, you can also indulge your passion. The historic village of Oldeberkoop is within cycling distance and right on the plot is the Bekhofschans, a unique remnant of the Frisian Waterline. A cannon found here on the doorstep now marks the entrance to the village. In nearby Frederiksoord you will find the Colonies of Weldadigheid. Afijn, a wonderful setting to build memories together!

In this beautiful country area you are wonderfully private, but also central enough to go by car to the village or other places of interest. There is a road that runs along, but it is only for local use. We were not bothered by it.

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

A lovely house with enough room for 8 adults, a baby and 2 dogs. A large garden finishes it off.The house is within walking distance of a nature reserve and hiking and biking trails.Everything you need for a pleasant stay is available and otherwise you can app the owner and it is quickly arranged. With the hot, sunny days there are plenty of shady places in the garden and air conditioning is available, should it be needed.Enough parking for at least 3 cars.

We were with our family, six adults and two children for a long weekend at the Stutteboshuis. We enjoyed it immensely, felt welcome and at home and were full of praise for basically everything. In short, a big ten from all of us!

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

A lovely house, cozy atmosphere (according to our granddaughter of 11 "furnished with lots of love"), spacious, very clean and cared for. Warm welcome by the managing couple, both in advance by email, and on site in person. Also during the weekend they were pleasantly involved and approachable.

    Fine!

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

We spent a wonderful week in Oldeberkoop. Nothing but praise for the beautiful farm house, perfectly fine. Clean, comfortable and fully equipped. Host Ed and hostess Anita were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for people.who seek peace and nature. Cycling and hiking trails everywhere. Deer, even in the beautiful garden. Birds, there is a crane spotted by one of the participants, cranes breed here in the area. We are far from finished! Josè and Aart

What does “contactless stay” mean?
You can stay here without personal contact with the host, for example via a key safe or digital access. A contactless stay does not always have to be mandatory.
What does “Fireworks-free” mean?
The host indicates that the area is firework-free. Firework-free means that no firework bangs can be heard in and around the accommodation. You might occasionally hear some noise or see some light from fireworks set off outside the immediate area. It is important that you agree with the landlord on what you can expect.
Selection of activities
After each stay, we invite our guests to rate the nature house, the surroundings, and specific activities. An activity is only shown at a nature house if it meets two conditions: at least 20 unique reviews have been given, and at least 60% of guests gave a score of ‘amazing’ (3/4) or ‘wow’ (4/4).
