The cottage is located in the middle of an olive and orange grove on the edge of the PARCO NAZIONALE DEL GARGANO. The tiny village is called Contrada Canneto and belongs to the municipality of Rodi Garganico (FG). The access road to the house - the last 100 m or so - is somewhat narrow, but can also be driven on with larger vehicles (e.g. Sprinter). The parking lot is in the garden under the trees. The country house is the upper house in the photo. There are stairs leading up to the house, so it is less suitable for children under 3 years old. A gardener takes care of the trees and cuts the grass. Guests can harvest their own oranges, lemons, figs, persimmons, medlars etc. A restored pizza oven is available for baking pizza or bread. The apartment is without heating, the lower room has a fireplace for heating. Every room in the house is entered from the outside. At the top is a huge terrace, not covered, but further down there is a covered outdoor seating area.
Nature and surroundings
About 1 km away from our Nature house is the sea with a free sandy beach. However, there are also beaches nearby (Rodi or San Menaio) with umbrellas and sun loungers, as well as restaurants and showers. Attractive bays can be reached quickly. Vico del Gargano is approx. 5 km from our cottage and has a daily fruit, fish and vegetable market, as well as a large supermarket (MD) and many smaller retail outlets. Rodi is more touristy, and from Vico you are immediately in a huge wooded area, the FORESTA UMBRA, with shady picnic areas under deciduous trees. Especially when the temperatures are higher, it is pleasantly cool there and there are animal enclosures and hiking trails in the forest. We can be reached by highway via Ancona, Pescara, exit Poggio Imperiale, Vico del Gargano. You will be picked up there. Since June 2025 you can fly with LUMIWINGS from Munich to FOGGIA. From there it is about 100 km by rental car to us.
