This 160 m² former barn, ecologically renovated mainly by us, is set in an unspoilt environment with a calm river. A large wooden terrace on stilts brings the house even closer to the river, like a moored barge. Strict criteria in the choice of building and insulation materials led us to select, wherever possible, bio-sourced or low-carbon impact materials: wood framing and wool, cellulose wadding. The gîte's energy performance has been carefully designed to provide comfort in all seasons (reinforced insulation, wood-burning stove, double-flow ventilation, attic ventilation, etc.). For your comfort, the adjacent relaxation area will be particularly appreciated after your hikes and activities. A true nature house for 11 people, it will delight young and old alike for your activities and moments to share in the center of France! Looking forward to meeting you again :)
Nature and surroundings
Our family-run gîte is located in a rural commune of 2,200 inhabitants on the outskirts of Limoges (20 minutes), in a natural, unoverlooked environment with a river running through the property. A relief features granite rocks and promontories and lush vegetation of local species, home to notable wildlife (herons, ducks, birds). Enjoy a real getaway from it all, as close to nature as possible, with family and friends reuniting and relaxing in the heart of our beautiful Limousin countryside. If your transport allows you to bring your own bikes, you'll be able to enjoy some great walks starting from the gîte, and a little further afield, you can extend your natural and sporting experiences around the Lac de Saint-Pardoux (accrobranches, tyroliennes, sailing, wake-boarding, archery). We'll be happy to advise you on more ideas to make your stay an exceptional experience!
