A lovely, bright, detached house with no immediate neighbors. Two bathrooms, four bedrooms—two with double beds and two with two single beds each. Two of the single beds can easily be pushed together and joined to form a 160-wide double bed. Extra beds can be added upon request. Spacious patio and large sunroom with a generous dining table. This is a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy long meals. As soon as the weather warms up a bit, you can quickly start enjoying the spring weather here. Equipped with a patio heater. Fully fenced-in garden with a fire pit and barbecue. The seating area under the canopy features a wood stove and comfortable cushions. A crib, high chair, and indoor and outdoor toys are available. In the garden, you’ll find an in-ground trampoline, a swing in the sweet chestnut tree, and a sandbox (with a lid). A go-kart and a pedal tractor are also provided. Pets are welcome.

Nature and surroundings

Wedde is located on the outskirts of Westerwolde, a wooded area of Groningen. From the house, you have a view of the Hoorndermeeden nature reserve, managed by Staatsbosbeheer, and there are several short and long hiking trails nearby—both on sandy paths and paved trails. A swimming lake with sandy beaches is just 500 meters away. About 800 meters away, you’ll find a charming free outdoor playground, and for rainy days, there’s an indoor playground and a covered swimming pool (for a fee). In the village, as well as near the swimming lake and playground, you’ll find charming little restaurants where you can enjoy a pleasant meal. From the house, you’ll often spot deer, pheasants, and other wildlife. Wedde itself has a genuine castle with a moat, and you can see many traces of the area’s eventful history nearby. The city of Groningen is a half-hour drive away, and Emmen Zoo is 45 minutes away. In Bad Nieuweschans (about a 20-minute drive), you can enjoy a wonderful day of relaxation in the sauna and baths.

We got exactly what we wanted: a fenced-in, large yard where the kids can play, and a large, sunny patio.
The layout is perfect, with good flow so we don't get in each other's way.
The kitchen is just as it should be—functional.

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

Quietly located despite the nearby parks.
