This nature house embodies sustainability. Your stay on the houseboat is conducted with respect for the environment. For example, the cleaning and personal care products used are 100% biodegradable. This is because these products end up back in surface water after use and wastewater treatment. We therefore ensure that these products are provided. Waste must be sorted. We separate and dispose of paper, cardboard, plastic, and other household waste. Toilet paper and paper towels are made from recycled materials. Coffee, tea, and other products available on the houseboat are organic. The houseboat is equipped with solar panels, its own watermaker for domestic water, a dry toilet, and a biological water filter. It also features a biomass-fired pellet stove, which provides cozy warmth. Enjoy the sounds of nature in this unique accommodation.
Nature and surroundings
The boat is moored in the water-rich heart of Friesland. Sneek is the largest municipality in the Netherlands, with a beautiful historic center. It features stunning nature reserves, across from the Kameleondorp. Fantastic sunrises and sunsets. An unforgettable stay at the nature house. This is a sustainable floating accommodation—a boat that can sail. During the winter, the Houseboat is moored at the Waterrijck dock. When guests are present, the boat is taken out (weather permitting) in the spring and summer. The houseboat is operated by the host and crew. Guests are not permitted to operate the houseboat themselves. If convenient, guests may come along for the ride. The houseboat is entirely at your disposal (an aluminum dinghy can be rented separately. If you’re traveling with a child, a life jacket is recommended). The sounds of nature, the water, and the movement of the houseboat are sounds that will keep reminding you of your stay on the water.

Free cancellation within 7 days of your booking confirmation, provided the booking request was made more than 28 days before the start date. For bookings starting within 28 days, free cancellation applies within 24 hours. If you cancel within the specified period, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount.
After that, you will receive a partial refund of the trip cost and a 100% refund of the deposit:
• Up to 42 days before arrival: 70% refund
• 42–28 days before arrival: 40% refund
• 28 days through the day of arrival: 10% refund
• On the day of arrival or later: no refund
- Out of respect for nature: silence between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
- Minimum age of main booker: 18 years.
- Smoking is not allowed in this nature house.
- No fireworks are allowed at this Nature House.
- No parties or events are allowed.
- Waste separation is mandatory in this nature house.
