Nature house in Mexilhoeira Grande (Portimão)

My partner and I absolutely loved it. Waking up and being right in the middle of nature was exactly what we wanted. It has almost everything you need—the fruit trees provide shade, and the hammock is great! David gave us some really good tips and was always available. Nearby (just past the roundabout heading toward Portimão), a woman sells fresh fruit and vegetables. We were able to check out late, and it’s a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the Algarve during peak season. It would have been perfect with two lounge chairs! Mein Partner und ich haben es sehr geliebt. Aufzuwachen und direkt in der Natur zu sein, war genau was wir wollten. Es ist fast alles da, was man braucht, die Obstbäume bieten Schatten, die Hängematte ist super! David hat uns sehr gute Tipps gegeben und war immer zu erreichen. in der Nähe (kurz nach dem Kreisverkehr Richtung Portimão) verkauft eine Frau frisches Obst und Gemüse. Wir durften spät auschecken und man kann dem Trubel der Algarve zu Hochsaison super entkommen. Mit zwei Liegestühlen wäre es perfekt gewesen! vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft!

From the description, I hadn’t realized that the cottage was located on a property shared with other people. When we arrived, we met Nadine, who lives above the cottage. In fact, though, we only ran into her that one time. Since we were there during peak season, we could hear families and dogs from the area. Otherwise, though, it’s really very quiet, and you can listen to the birds, flamingos, and storks.

Von der Beschreibung her hatte ich nicht verstanden, dass das Häuschen sich auf einem Gelände mit anderen Personen befindet. Wir trafen bei Ankunft Nadine, die Oberhalb des Häuschens wohnt. Tatsächlich sind wir uns aber nur das eine Mal begegnet. Da wir innerhalb der Hochsaison da waren, konnte man Familien und Hunde aus der Gegend hören. Ansonsten ist es aber wirklich sehr ruhig und man kann den Vögeln, Flamingos und Störchen lauschen.

Alles is hierboven geschreven. Een auto of goede (elektrische) fietsen zijn nodig om de brede omgeving te kunnen zien.

This house is an oasis of nature and tranquility. Simple, low tech and charming. Fine atmosphere and comfortable. Just right for two people. The adjacent "wetlands" gave a buffer from the busy western part of the Algarve. Nice to be able to come back to the quiet after spending some time in the hustle and bustle. Host was very pleasant and precise and quick in communication. Thank you David.

Dit huis is een oasis van natuur en rust. Simpel, low tech en charming. Fijne sfeer en comfortabel. Voor twee personen precies goed. De aangrenzende “wetlands” gaven een buffer van het drukke westelijke gedeelte van de Algarve. Fijn om terug naar de rust te kunnen komen na wat tijd in de drukte te hebben gezeten.
Gastheer was heel plezierig en secuur en snel in de communicatie. Dank je wel, David.

A very nice and relaxing place to stay together. Comfortable cottage, lots of peace and quiet and a good base to discover the Algarve. We really enjoyed it and would love to come back again.

Een hele fijne en ontspannen plek om samen te verblijven. Comfortabel huisje, veel rust en een goede uitvalsbasis om de Algarve te ontdekken. Wij hebben echt genoten en komen graag nog eens terug.

We stayed here from December 20 to 27 to escape the Christmas rush, and we had a great time. We had a great time together and would without a doubt come back here to discover more of the Algarve. The house was completely fine and especially the fireplace made it extra nice. We often had it on - sometimes even so warm that we could really enjoy it together. Because of the weather (it rained occasionally) cooking in the outdoor kitchen was sometimes less convenient, so we went out to eat more often. What we also liked is that the house is located on private property and is fully fenced. That made us feel very safe and relaxed. In addition, Portimão and Lagos are both good and easy to reach, which makes it a fine base to explore the area.

Wij zijn hier van 20 t/m 27 december geweest om even te ontsnappen aan de kerstdrukte, en dat is echt super goed bevallen. We hebben het ontzettend leuk gehad samen en zouden hier zonder twijfel nog een keer terugkomen om meer van de Algarve te ontdekken.

Het huisje was helemaal in orde en vooral de open haard maakte het extra fijn. Die hebben we vaak aan gehad — soms zelfs zó warm dat we er echt lekker van konden genieten samen. Door het weer (het regende af en toe) was koken in de buitenkeuken soms wat minder handig, waardoor we wat vaker uit eten zijn gegaan. Dat vonden we eigenlijk helemaal geen straf.

Wat we ook heel prettig vonden, is dat het huisje op privéterrein ligt en volledig omheind is. Dat gaf ons een heel veilig en ontspannen gevoel. Daarnaast zijn Portimão en Lagos allebei goed en makkelijk te bereiken, wat het een fijne uitvalsbasis maakt om de omgeving te verkennen.
