Welcome to Le Grand Chalet, a cosy wooden chalet nestled in the heart of Domaine du Bouchard, a 300-hectare private, fenced estate where fallow deer, stags and wild boar live in semi-liberty. From the terrace, enjoy a soothing view over a small lake where the animals regularly come to drink, for a total immersion in nature. The estate is ideal for lovers of peace, wildlife and hiking. Situated in the heart of the Cathar region, it's just 20 minutes from the Gorges de Galamus and 25 minutes from the Pic de Bugarach. The 80 m² chalet has 3 bedrooms and a mezzanine, and offers all the comforts you need for a stay with family or friends. Well-equipped, it's the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing, authentic stay. Access is via a 1.5 km driveway, guaranteeing peace and quiet and a change of scenery.
Nature and surroundings
The Domaine du Bouchard is a true haven of nature where everyone can enjoy simple, authentic activities. Fishing enthusiasts can tease trout in the estate's lake (€3 per trout). Deer, wild boar and many birds of prey can often be seen on site, making this wild region of the Cathar country so rich in wildlife. For a moment of relaxation, a sauna and jacuzzi are available at extra cost, ideal after a day's hiking or exploring. The owners live on site and will be delighted to share their advice on the best walks, must-see sites, local wildlife and natural treasures in the area, to make your stay even more enjoyable and authentic.
