This secluded nature house is a wonderful place to unwind. The only sounds you’ll hear are birds or, at night, an owl. The cottage is located at the back of a garden and has its own entrance. You can sleep soundly in the 1.20-meter-wide bed, or snuggle up together as a couple for a cozy, old-fashioned experience. The cottage is simply furnished and is especially well-suited as a base for exploring the area or for studying in peace and quiet. There are facilities for making coffee and tea, and a microwave is provided. You can’t cook for yourself, but if you’d like, you can join the landlord for a vegetarian meal by arrangement. There’s Wi-Fi and a television in the cottage. There’s a separate bathroom with a sink, shower, and toilet. If you book for a week, the price is less than 40 euros per night. We do expect that no one smokes inside the cottage!
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is located on the central meadow of the hamlet of Kleine Geest, or “Lytse Geast” as we say in Friesland. In that meadow stands Max the horse, along with his friend Henkie, who belongs to the neighbors. There’s nothing else in the hamlet except for a few houses and farms, but that’s exactly what makes it so pleasantly peaceful here. By bike, you can reach Leeuwarden in half an hour (the city center is an 8-km bike ride), where there’s plenty to do. But the surrounding area is also beautiful for walking or biking. The Kleine Geest is an old sand ridge that rises above the surrounding polder, like a little island in the green grass. The Frisian Woods begin here, as you can clearly see from the tree-lined embankments surrounding the meadows. Behind the house is a small meadow surrounded by a tree-lined embankment—a wonderful spot to relax when the weather is nice.

What a lovely cottage, peacefully situated among meadows and woodlands. Waking up to the sound of birds.
Wonderful hostess, great shower, everything you need.
From the cottage, Leeuwarden is a half-hour bike ride away, and you can be in the beautiful Alde Feanen in no time.Wat een heerlijk huisje, rustig gelegen tussen weilanden en bossages. Wakker worden door vogelgeluiden.
Geweldige gastvrouw, heerlijke douche, alles aanwezig.
Vanuit het huisje is Leeuwarden een halfuurtje fietsen en je zit zo in de mooie Alde Feanen. This text is automatically translated.
