Mökki lomaaurinko - Vacation cottage on Lake Saimaa with a private beach, sauna, and hot tub Enjoy the unique combination of breathtaking nature and a comfortably furnished mökki (vacation cottage) on Salosaari Island on Lake Saimaa / Ruokolahti. The mökki, featuring a large terrace and patio furniture, is located about 10 meters from the pier/beach and is ideal for one to four people. Water temperatures in the summer are often between 21 and 24 degrees, perfect for swimming. Or you can take the rowboat (included) out onto the lake—for fishing, for example. The wood-fired sauna is available year-round, and in the summer, the hot tub is available for relaxation. You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with eco-friendly cleaning supplies, as well as gentle soaps and shampoos and bathrobes to help you feel right at home. There’s also a cozy barbecue hut and a tree tent for special moments in nature. Just let your mind wander. With a little luck, you might see the Northern Lights in the winter evening sky.

A nature getaway with sustainable, eco-friendly comfort. On our property, you’ll find plenty of nature and tranquility, but if you’d like, you can drive to the town of Imatra in just 20 minutes to enjoy all its shops, restaurants, and attractions. If you’d like to arrive by train—no problem—we’ll pick you up at the Imatra train station. The nearest supermarket and everything you need for daily life are located about 6 km away in our beautiful town of Ruokolahti. Salosaari is connected to the mainland by two bridges. The area around Ruokolahti is famous for its bike trails and—on the lake—for canoeing and kayaking. There are also many beautiful hiking trails, such as Hukkavuori (Wolf Hill) and Haukkavuori (Falcon Hill), which offer magnificent views. E-bikes, canoes, and SUPs are available for rent. And in winter: cross-country skiing through snow-covered forests, or would you prefer groomed trails? Go snow hiking on the frozen Lake Saimaa and cool off in the snow after a sauna.
