Nature house in Stiens

Experience peace and quiet with beautiful views. This is a B&B, and in the summer we have an ice cream and tea garden. We have two rooms, each 25 m² and accommodating two people, with a private entrance, shower, toilet, kitchenette (not for cooking), and a terrace overlooking the Dokkumer EE River. Guests are also welcome to use the garden. The rooms are located on the south side of our 1825 “head-neck-body” farmhouse, which we’re renovating and furnishing as sustainably as possible. The B&B is located between Leeuwarden and Dokkum. You can reach both cities via a scenic bike route along the Dokkumer EE. We have bikes, SUP boards, and kayaks available to borrow. The village of Stiens is 5 km away, and you can find all the basic amenities there. It also has several nice shops. The surrounding villages offer pleasant dining options, and otherwise, Leeuwarden or Dokkum are easily accessible, both by bike and by car.

The Wiide Mar Birdwatching Hut is 1.5 km away—a lovely spot to get up close to nature. The Dokkumer EE is a wonderful place for biking and hiking. The Kleine and Groote Wielen are a 20-minute drive away. A wonderful place for hiking. De Alde Feanen National Park is a 35-minute drive away. Set aside a whole day for a visit to Noard-Fryslân Bûtendyks! Behind the seawall near Hallum, It Fryske Gea manages its most extensive salt marsh area. It’s just a 20-minute drive away. Lauwersmeer National Park is a beautiful nature reserve for hiking. It’s a 40-minute drive away. A day trip to a Wadden Sea island. The ferry terminals to the various Wadden Sea islands are easily accessible. Ameland is a 20-minute drive, Terschelling and Vlieland are 30 minutes away, and Schiermonniksoog is a 40-minute drive.
