Nature house in Skallhult (Karlsborg)

Pure nature. Totally free. Unfortunately, the well was dry when we were there, so we hauled water from the lake ourselves using jerry cans. The only thing we missed was a faucet—perhaps in the form of a water bag.

Puur natuur. Heel vrij. De put was helaas droog toen wij er waren, dus haalden we zelf water uit het meer met jerrycans. Enige wat we misten, is een kraantje. Bijvoorbeeld in de vorm van een waterzak.

Solskenet is truly a nature house. It’s nestled in the middle of the forest. No neighbors nearby—just lots of greenery. There are beautiful hikes where you won’t run into a soul. And the experience in and around the house itself is all about nature. Off-grid. Completely on your own. The toilet is outside. You have to fetch your own water. A fire to roast your sausages. And a clear starry sky above your head.

Solskenet is met recht een natuurhuisje. Het ligt midden in het bos. Geen buren in de buurt, alleen heel veel groen. Er zijn prachtige wandelingen te maken waarbij je niemand tegenkomt. En de ervaring in en om het huisje zelf is ook een en al natuur. Off grid. Helemaal op jezelf. WC is buiten. Zelf je water regelen. Vuurtje om je worstjes op te roosteren. En een heldere sterrenhemel boven je hoofd.

The cottage is simple and does not have many luxuries, but decorated with so much love and attention to detail that it immediately felt warm and special. Normally you only admire houses like this from the outside in an open-air museum, and now we could just stay there ourselves - a unique experience!

Het huisje is eenvoudig en heeft niet veel luxe, maar met zoveel liefde en oog voor detail ingericht dat het meteen warm en bijzonder aanvoelt. Normaal bewonder je dit soort huisjes alleen van buiten in een openluchtmuseum, en nu konden we er gewoon zelf logeren – een unieke ervaring!

We had a fantastic time in the cottage in the woods. Going out by day to look for mushrooms and berries on our own, cooking on a campfire in the evening - it felt like pure simplicity and freedom. The total tranquility and space made it a perfect place to really come to yourself. Making coffee in the morning and watching the sun rise was perhaps the most beautiful moment of all. In short: a very special place that we look back on with great pleasure.

We hebben een fantastische tijd gehad in het huisje in het bos. Overdag op pad om zelf paddenstoelen en bessen te zoeken, ’s avonds koken op een kampvuur – het voelde als pure eenvoud en vrijheid. De totale rust en ruimte maakten het een perfecte plek om echt tot jezelf te komen.

’s Ochtends koffiezetten en de zon zien opkomen was misschien wel het mooiste moment van allemaal. Kortom: een heel bijzondere plek waar we met veel plezier op terugkijken.
