Nature house in Le Buisson de Cadouin

It’s a large, old house with 1 bedroom and 2 bathrooms downstairs and 3 bedrooms upstairs. Spacious kitchen fully equipped. Spacious living room. Plenty of places to sit outside. Large pool with sunny and shaded areas, lounge chairs, and umbrellas. In the village, 5 km away, there are a few shops and a small supermarket. Further away, about 10 km, there are more large stores and supermarkets. The house can get warm, but it’s easy to keep it cool with the fans. The owners are super friendly and helpful, with plenty of information to share.

Het is een groot oud huis, met 1 slaapkamer en 2 badkamers beneden en boven 3 slaapkamers. Ruime keuken met alles er in. Ruime woonkamer. Buiten overal zitplekjes. Groot zwembad met zon en schaduw plekjes, ligbedden en parasols. In het dorp 5 km met wat winkels en kleine supermarkt. Verderop ongeveer 10 km meer grotere winkels en supermarkten. In het het huis wel warm maar met de ventilatoren goed koel te houden. Eigenaren zijn super vriendelijk en behulpzaam met een overvloed aan informatie.

A beautiful old house nestled among the trees in a forest. We saw lots of birds, insects, butterflies, and deer. Nearby are the Dordogne and the Vézère rivers, which are great for swimming. There are also caves in the area. You can go hiking and biking.

Mooi oud huis midden tussen de bomen van een bos. Veel vogels, insecten, vlinders en herten gezien. In de omgeving de dordogne en de vezere waar je lekker in kan zwemmen. Er zijn ook grotten in de buurt. Je kan wandelen en fietstochten maken.

The house is a nice size; there were four of us. The various seating areas—some in the sun, some in the shade, some with a breeze, some with a view, and some with chairs and loungers—are really nice. There’s something for everyone at any time of day.
All the amenities we needed were there. Because of the weather, we mainly used the BBQ and the fans.
The pool is fantastic for cooling off (it stayed below 29 degrees) even though the temperatures rose above 40 degrees.

There are shops nearby, so picking up fresh bread in the morning takes less than 20 minutes. Charming villages, a Lidl, an Aldi, a large supermarket, and canoe rentals are all just a 15-minute drive away.

We’d love to come back again.
For us, this is a house where you feel right at home once you figure out how everything works (keeping it cool, which seating areas are comfortable, the appliances, and so on).
The hosts are very attentive and provided us with a wealth of information.

Het huis is fijn groot, we waren met ons 4tjes. De verschillende zitjes in de zon en/of schaduw en/of met wind en/of met uitzicht en/of zit/ligstoelen zijn super fijn. Voor elk wat wils op elk moment van de dag.
Alle faciliteiten die we nodig hadden waren aanwezig. Vanwege t weer hebben we vooral veel gebruik gemaakt van de bbq en de waaiers.
T zwembad is fantastisch om af te koelen (bleef ook onder de 29 graden) ondanks dat de temperaturen opliepen tot boven de 40graden.

Winkels zijn er in de buurt, dus ‘s morgens vers brood halen is binnen 20 minuutjes gedaan. Leuke dorpjes en een Lidl, Aldi en grote supermarkt en kanoen liggen op n kwartiertje afstand rijden.

Wij komen heel graag nog een keer terug.
Dit is voor ons een huis waarbij je thuiskomt als je eenmaal weet hoe t huis (koel houden, welke zitplekken fijn zijn, apparatuur enzo) werkt.
De verhuurders zijn zeer betrokken en hebben ons een overvloed aan informatie gegeven.

Because of the heat, we didn't get to see much of the surrounding area, but what we did see was definitely worth it.
The house, the garden, and the private pool are very peaceful, and it's a joy to watch the butterflies and bumblebees find their way to the flowers in the garden.

Vanwege de warmte hebben we niet heel veel van de omgeving gezien, maar wat we hebben gezien is zeker de moeite waard.
Het huis, de tuin en t privé zwembad geven veel rust en t is genieten om de vlinders en hommels hun weg te zien vinden naar de bloemen die in de tuin staan.

The house itself is a very old, spacious, characterful home in a beautiful, green location. In the large sleeping loft, there is a moisture problem causing an invasive odor making the fabric bed frames clammy and musty. In the less accessible places there were dozens of dead insects and you share the house with the spiders in the stone jars. Landlord's response: What a shame to read this only in retrospect (after 5 weeks), especially since our contact during your stay was frequent and positive. This complaint was not voiced previously and was not noted during recent inspection. We would have loved to have addressed it immediately, as we do everything we can to keep our family home clean and comfortable.

Het huis zelf is een zeer oude, ruime, karaktervolle woning op een prachtige, groene locatie. Op de grote slaapzolder is er een vochtprobleem waardoor er een indringende geur hangt waardoor de stoffen bedframes klam en muf zijn. Op de minder goed bereikbare plaatsen lagen er tientallen dode insecten en je deelt het huis met de spinnen in de stenen kruiken.

Reactie van de verhuurder:

Wat jammer om dit pas achteraf (na 5 weken) te lezen, zeker omdat ons contact tijdens jullie verblijf frequent en positief was. Deze klacht is niet eerder geuit en is ook bij recente inspectie niet geconstateerd. We hadden het graag direct opgepakt, want we doen er alles aan om ons familiehuis schoon en comfortabel te houden.
