Nature house in Haskerhorne

Earlier reviews had already raised some doubts, but I booked it anyway in the hope that the host would take the reviews seriously, especially if they were mentioned frequently. Especially given the current value for money. Unfortunately, even contacting the nature house directly by phone didn’t lead to any improvement.

Eerdere reviews gaven al enige twijfel aan, toch geboekt in de hoop dat een gastvrouw iets doet met reviews zeker als ze vaker genoemd zijn. Zeker gezien de huidige prijs - kwaliteit verhouding. Ook telefonisch contact met Natuurhuisje zelf bied helaas geen kans op verbetering.

The cottage has the potential to be lovely, but:
the lighting is poor—you can't read a book,
there are no nightstands at all, and no lamps in one of the bedrooms,
there is only one small towel per person per week,
the pedal bin is broken—I don’t know where to put the trash.
And most surprisingly, after calling the owner about this, there was no response whatsoever, nor was any contact made. There was absolutely no service or hospitality!
She blamed the cleaning lady for the towels, saying she only leaves one per person per week. The bizarre thing was that the owner lives right next to the vacation home and didn’t even bother to bring some extra towels.

Van het huisje is iets moois te maken, echter :
de verlichting is slecht ,kan geen boek lezen,
er zijn helemaal geen nachtkastjes en ook geen lampjes in 1 slaapkamer,
er is 1 kleine handdoek p.p.pw. ,
pedaalemmer is kapot, weet niet waar je je afval moet achterlaten.
En het meest verbazingwekkende, na een telefoontje hierover met eigenaar, is er nergens op gereageerd, of enig contact opgenomen. Van service of gastvrijheid totaal geen sprake !
Ze verwees met de handdoeken naar de schoonmaakster die er maar 1 per persoon per week neerlegt. Het bizarre was dat de eigenaresse naast het vakantiehuisjes woont en niet eens de moeite heeft genomen om wat extra handdoeken te brengen.

Not right away: coffee pods or tea bags. Two small towels for five days—no towel by the sink—one roll of toilet paper, and other small but not insignificant things like that. No sense of being welcome—we’ve experienced this often, and it just feels nicer. For example, a bouquet of flowers on the table and maybe some Frisian cookies.

Niet voor het eerste moment, koffiecupjes of theezakje. 2kleine handdoekjes voor 5 dagen geen handdoekje bij de wasbak, 1wc rol en zomeer aan kleine niet onbelangrijke dingen. Geen gevoel van welkom, hebben dat vaak meegemaakt en voelt toch lekkerder. Bijvoorbeeld bloemetje op tafel en bv wat Frieze koek.

The cottage is tucked away in the countryside outside Joure. This was our second visit, and we enjoyed it once again. Unfortunately, there are still some “issues” with the cottage that haven’t been fixed. The lights aren’t adequate; in the evening, there isn’t enough light to read by. There are two microwaves, but no oven. There are two refrigerators, but no freezer compartment (although it’s listed on the inventory). In the bedrooms, piles of clothes have to be placed on a chest because the clothes rack only has a few hangers. There are other things like this that would be so easy to fix. But the location is wonderful, and the basics of good furnishings (beds, table, and chairs are perfect) are there—now it just needs that extra touch.

Het huisje ligt verscholen in het groen buiten Joure. We kwamen voor de 2e keer en genoten weer. Helaas blijven er wat ‘mankementen’ aan het huisje die niet worden verholpen. De lampen voldoen niet, ‘s avonds is er onvoldoende licht om bij te lezen. Twee magnetrons , geen oven. Twee ijskasten, geen diepvriesla (staat wel op inventaris). In de slaapkamers moeten de stapeltjes kleren op een kist want klerenrekje heeft alleen ‘n paar hangers. Zo is er wel meer wat zo makkelijk op te lossen zou zijn. Maar de plek is heerlijk, de basis van goede inrichting (bedden, tafel en stoelen perfect) is er, nu nog dat tandje erbij.
