In our 500-year-old authentic water mill, you will find unparalleled peace and quiet. This is disturbed only by the sound of rippling water and the occasional buzzard marking its territory. The 14-hectare property consists of a water mill, a miller's house (12 people) and the old bakery (gîte for 4 people). You rent either the big house or the gîte or both houses. We only rent to one tenant so your peace and quiet is assured: You are lord and master and the only tenant. Layout of the gîte: first floor: entrance through the living room, open dining area, open kitchen, utility room with washer/dryer and toilet. Upper floor: mezzanine, 2 double bedrooms, a walk-through room with French bed and a bathroom. The dining room opens onto a large terrace overlooking the valley and a fast-flowing river. Around the house you will also find a bocce court, playground, a large private swimming pool and a butterfly garden.
Nature and surroundings
Our paradisiacal property is tucked away in green surroundings on a private access road of 300 meters. Only in the distance uphill is visible a beautifully situated manor. The varied property covers 14 hectares: forest, orchard, streams, waterfall, butterfly garden and meadow. The private reservoir (with boat) is a fisherman's paradise. And the rolling countryside of the Limousin is that for hikers and cyclists (who does not know our local celebrity Raymond Poulidor). 4 kilometers away you will find the medieval town of Saint Léonard de Noblat with all necessary amenities and restaurants. The great university city of Limoges is 20 kilometers away and is known for its porcelain and enamel. It has a cozy old center, a beautiful art nouveau station, old fortifications and several museums. Nearby are such places as the war-ravaged town of Oradour, and also the beautifully situated reservoir Lac de Vassiviére is well worth a visit.
