Nature house in Gien-sur-Cure

La Coupe Lyonnet is a small hamlet belonging to the village of Gien-sur-Cure and is about 3 km. from Lac de Settons. The hamlet consists of about 10 houses.The farmhouse is about 150 years old.It consists of living area, barn and stable. All in fairly original condition, but where there used to be the granary are now the bedrooms. And is located on spacious grounds with a lawn in front of the door and a young plantation behind the barn. "Ventres Bleus" is old, is countryside and is in the middle of nature. "Ventres Bleus" is for people who are a little self-reliant, not afraid of a spider or nocturnal rustling behind the ceiling. Especially in the conservatory and the barn, nature often enters the house, as a climbing/creeping plant, but also as a small gnawing animal. Upstairs behind the ceiling you can sometimes hear the scurrying of an animal that is building up its winter stock there; squirrels, I think.

Lac de Settons is 3 km from the farm. It is the largest reservoir in the middle of the Morvan and was built in 1861 to allow the transportation of wood through the rivers to Paris. Now it attracts many tourists in summer when the weather is nice and there are many opportunities for recreation. The Morvan was given the title of Parc Naturel Regional de Morvan in 1970; an area with forests and streams for endless hiking and ideal for mountain biking. With every weekend at least 1 or 2 brocantes or vide-greniers.Larger towns on the outskirts of the Morvan worth visiting: Autun, Avallon, Vezeley.Small supermarkets can be found in Moux, Montsauche and Planchez; all about 8-10 km away. And in these places you can also get fresh bread from 7:00 a.m. Large supermarkets can be found in Saulieu, Autun or Chateau Chinon (all +/- 25 km). For fresh bread you can go from 7 am in Moux, Montsauche or Planchez.
