Our cottage is located on a small cul-de-sac. It is traditionally a worker's house that was completely renovated in 2007. The house has everything on the ground floor. It is a spacious house (upstairs two bedrooms) but we rent it to max two people. The house offers a cozy spacious living room and a spacious kitchen. Lovely are the terraces. From one terrace you have a great view over the valley. There is also a veranda where you can sit / eat / relax. You can park your car in front of the house. On the road live Wijnand and Jolanda, who are contact persons. The distance to stores is about three kilometers. In Le Val d'Ajol there are two supermarkets, a few bakers and a butcher. In Remiremont there are a couple of very large supermarchés.
Nature and surroundings
The immediate surroundings are magnificent. You can walk and cycle endlessly and in peace. Many marked hiking trails start in the immediate vicinity. Here you will meet the beautiful mountain landscape with alternating forests, meadows, small hamlets and have beautiful views. There are also beautiful towns to visit in the Vosges, such as Remiremont, Plombières and Belfort. If you want to leave the car at home for e.g. a week, you can take a different walk every day. If you want to explore the Vosges further you can visit the Grand Ballons or you can go to the 1000 lakes area. It is best to drive very quietly on roads like the Honeck or the Ballon d'Alsace. The route there is fantastic. At the end of the day you can take the faster connection back. The same goes for the 1000 lakes area. A beautiful nature experience with a very different character. And then after such a day delicious afterglow on the terrace with a glass of wine......
