Are you looking for a real French vacation home with beautiful views in a very quiet environment? Then Gite Lafurette is for you. The house is located halfway up a hill in a small hamlet, with beautiful views over a valley, in the Perigord in the hilly landscape of Dordogne, Lot and Lot-et-Garonne. Downstairs within walking distance is an attractive lake (Lac de Marou) with beaches, where you can swim and fish (see photos). The house is beautifully situated in the hills between Dordogne and Lot with forests, streams and open fields. It is a typical French vacation home, built of French natural stone with a pigeonnier converted into a spacious bathroom. It also consists of a living room with open kitchen, a bedroom and a separate guest room. The living room has access with French doors to a beautiful garden with terraces. The entrance is to a romantic court, shaded by a beautifully flowering Albizia.
Nature and surroundings
This Nature House is on a dead-end road and it is very quiet, yet it is not isolated. There are very friendly French neighbors a short distance away. Deer roam the property, owls dwell in the area, wild boars browse at night. The location is at the foothills of the Massive Central, hills about 250 m high and a little further on the landscape becomes rolling. Grand Randonnées run through the area. Below is a small lake fed by 2 streams from valleys where there is no habitation, so very pure water. There are little beaches, great for swimming. The area has many bastides, fortified towns on a hill, with a special character. The wine regions of Cahors and Dordogne are nearby. The Lot river at 7 Km. The area breathes history. The village of Cuzorn on a river at 2 Km with a nice restaurant. Furthermore, plenty of restaurants with often very good cuisine at affordable prices.
