From here, it is just 200 meters to the hiking trails and 5 minutes to the idyllic Ruppertstal valley. In winter, cross-country ski trails and various ski lifts in the Rennsteig region beckon, while in summer the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Vessertal with its unspoilt nature invites you to explore. From the chalet, you can reach Oberhof with its famous sports facilities via the hiking trails. The historic cities of Erfurt, Weimar, Eisenach and Meiningen are within an hour's drive.
