Nature house in Doische

Almost 30 years ago, grandma and grandpa fell in love with the region around Gimnée. They bought a cozy cottage where they could not be missed with friends and family. The ardenneskriebel was passed on from (grand)parents to (grand)children and recently we, the granddaughters, have been taking care of the management. The cottage contains a well-equipped kitchen, microwave, (small) freezer, fridge, dishwasher, etc. Please note that there is no wifi available, although mobile coverage is quite good with most providers. During the winter the cozy stove provides the necessary heating. As it can be a bit cold on arrival, electric fires are also provided. During the summer months the air conditioning in the upstairs bedroom can be used. The south facing garden with BBQ and fire bowl is a great asset. Children have room to romp, with the garden being fenced. There are also toys available: badminton rackets, Kubb, petanque, board games ...

The cottage is particularly suitable for hikers and/or nature lovers. Epicurean? Adventurer? Then too there are plenty of opportunities nearby. Just across the French border (which incidentally is only a stone's throw away) Givet contains something for everyone: from eateries to a small shopping center. Recommended for hikers: from the cottage you walk across the border towards Hierges. There, in the middle of a picturesque village (equipped with medieval buildings, little church and castle ruins) you will find a little restaurant. After a satisfying aperitif, walk back to the cottage. The geologists among us will find in Nismes "Fondry des Chiens", a real rock formation. Near Givet you will find ancient caves with a rich history that the guides explain with great enthusiasm. You can also go kayaking, paintballing, high ropes course, wall climbing, swimming pool, bowling, mini golf, tourist train ...
