Welcome to our nature house in Barlo, the outskirts of Aalten. Just 2 km from the village you can enjoy the peace and quiet and nature. A wonderful place in the middle of the beautiful countryside of the Achterhoek. Part of our barn / shovel we have converted into a cottage, suitable for two people, area is approximately 33 m2. In the renovation is as much as possible reused and also many natural materials are used. The cottage has a sitting area, a dining table / work area, a kitchenette with two-burner induction hob, a refrigerator (no freezer), a bathroom with shower and toilet, a bedroom. The sleeping area is on the mezzanine and can be reached by stairs. There is good wifi. The central heating makes it comfortable even in the colder periods. Electric bike and car (charging point with fixed ccs plug) can be charged. From approx June '26, a second cottage is rented next to this one.
Nature and surroundings
At dawn you can hear the birds singing. From the terrace you overlook the orchard and a natural grassland and have a view of the sheep pasture. The chickens also regularly run around scurrying in the yard. The natural garden is enclosed by woodland plants and beautiful, large trees. Because the accommodation is located at the back of the barn, you are very free. Our nature house is located in the rolling countryside of the Achterhoek. You can enjoy cycling and walking from here. Nature reserve the Aalten Goor, the Vennebulten, the Loohuisbos, the Korenburgerveen, the Slingeplas are some of the many beautiful places in our area. In Aalten you will find the National Museum of the Secret Annex. The fortified town of Bredevoort, Winterswijk, Vragender and Lichtenvoorde are also nearby and worth a visit.
