Welcome to our nature houses in Barlo, on the outskirts of Aalten. Just 2 km from the village, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature right here. A wonderful spot in the heart of the beautiful Achterhoek region. We’ve converted part of our barn into two vacation cottages—one suitable for 2 people and the other for up to 3—both measuring 33 m². During the renovation, we reused materials as much as possible and incorporated plenty of natural materials. Many original details have been preserved. The cottages feature a sitting area, a dining table/workspace, a kitchenette with a two-burner induction cooktop, a refrigerator, a bathroom with a shower and toilet, and a bedroom. The sleeping area is located on the loft and is accessible via the stairs. One cottage has a sofa that can be used as a sleeping area (for one person). There is good Wi-Fi. Central heating ensures a comfortable stay even during colder periods. Electric bikes and cars (charging station with a fixed CCS plug) can be charged here.
Nature and surroundings
At sunrise, you can hear the birds singing. From the terrace, you look out over the orchard and a natural meadow, with a view of the sheep pasture. Chickens also regularly roam around the yard, scratching for food. The natural garden is surrounded by woodland and beautiful, large trees. Since the cottage is located at the back of the barn, you’ll enjoy a wonderfully secluded setting. Our nature houses are nestled in the rolling, wooded landscape of the Achterhoek. From here, you can enjoy wonderful bike rides and hikes. The Aaltense Goor nature reserve, the Vennebulten, the Loohuisbos, the Korenburgerveen, and the Slingeplas are just a few of the many beautiful spots in our area. In Aalten, you’ll find the National Hiding Place Museum. The fortified town of Bredevoort, Winterswijk, Vragender, and Lichtenvoorde are also nearby and worth a visit.
