When you arrive at the barrier, you are almost at the nature house. It can accommodate 4 people and is located in the middle of a nature reserve. It is a thatched house with a robust, nostalgic interior. The house is in the middle of the forest with many open plains where you can make beautiful walks. The house has a simple kitchen with an induction hob, extractor hood, refrigerator, small microwave/oven and filter coffee maker. Downstairs is a recently renovated bathroom with shower and toilet. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with double beds. The cottage dates from 1941 and is built 1-stone. This means that it is not insulated. The house is heated by electric heating and floor heating in the bathroom. But in the living room you can also light the wood stove. Wood is included in the rent. Please note that there is no wifi nor TV. Bed linen and kitchen linen are provided. Bath linen (towels, etc.) you must bring your own.

Nature and surroundings

The estate is within walking distance of De Haere Estate. A vast shifting sand area on the Veluwe, southwest of 't Harde. A wide variety of birds, reptiles and insects live on De Haere. The dry heather and juniper at the edge of the drifting sand attract many birds, reptiles and butterflies. The many transitions between the open forest and heathland make the area very attractive. Also nearby, within cycling distance, you will find the Willemsbos and the Zandenbos south of Nunspeet. Countless walks are available in the forestries around Doornspijk. Another nice outing could be a visit to the A. Vogel gardens on Zwaluwenburg Estate in 't Harde. For cyclists, there is also much to enjoy. Huis op de Bergen is rented out by SBNL Natuurfonds. With our campaign Natuur om de Hoek we are committed to financially supporting private projects in the field of nature and landscape management in the countryside.

A very nice stay in a nice house. Minimalist and a little back in time.... With the wood stove you can heat the house and this immediately gives a lot of atmosphere. Everything you think you need is there. The area is beautiful and it is wonderful that there are no other cottages. Total tranquility with a unique location.

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

The contact with the new manager Eline is super. Quick and accurate to resolve issues.

A lovely cottage in which everything is in ample supply. The cold was not too bad because there is good electric heating. Both in the living room and bedrooms. And a lovely wood stove that gives warmth and coziness. With the door to the kitchen open it is fine there too. Nice slippers on your feet and enjoy the special view. The area is great for hiking right from the cottage or biking in the wide surroundings. The sound of the A28 is surpassed by the beautiful surroundings.

The kitchen door does not close properly causing unnecessary cold to enter.

It remains a great spot. Only when we went walking on the sand drifts in the back we saw people. From the cottage even spotted a roe deer.

You can stay here without personal contact with the host, for example via a key safe or digital access. A contactless stay does not always have to be mandatory.
What does “Fireworks-free” mean?
The host indicates that the area is firework-free. Firework-free means that no firework bangs can be heard in and around the accommodation.
