When you arrive at the barrier, you are almost at the nature house. It can accommodate 4 people and is located in the middle of a nature reserve. It is a thatched house with a robust, nostalgic interior. The house is in the middle of the forest with many open plains where you can take beautiful walks. The house has a simple kitchen with an induction hob, hood, refrigerator, small microwave/oven and filter coffee maker. Downstairs is a recently renovated bathroom with shower and toilet. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with double beds. The cottage dates from 1941 and is a 1-stone building. This means that it is not insulated. The house is heated by electric heating and floor heating in the bathroom. But in the living room you can also light the wood stove. Wood is included in the rent. Please note that there is no wifi nor TV. Bed linen and kitchen linen are provided. Bath linen (towels, etc.) you must bring your own.
Nature and surroundings
The estate is within walking distance of De Haere Estate. A vast shifting sand area on the Veluwe, southwest of 't Harde. A wide variety of birds, reptiles and insects live on De Haere. The dry heather and juniper at the edge of the drifting sand attract many birds, reptiles and butterflies. The many transitions between the open forest and heathland make the area very attractive. Also nearby, within cycling distance, you will find the Willemsbos and the Zandenbos south of Nunspeet. Countless walks are available in the forestries around Doornspijk. Another nice outing could be a visit to the A. Vogel gardens on Zwaluwenburg Estate in 't Harde. For cyclists, there is also much to enjoy. Huis op de Bergen is rented out by SBNL Natuurfonds.
