Discover the rustic charm of our 400-year-old national historic landmark! We hope your cozy and comfortable stay in the gardener’s cottage will delight you. This partially detached home with its own entrance offers peace and comfort. Set in a picturesque setting along the IJssel River, just a 15-minute drive from historic Deventer, our summer cottage welcomes you with open arms. The simple yet comfortable furnishings create a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for unwinding completely. The house has a floor area of approximately 120 m². It features a spacious living room, kitchen, and bathroom. A somewhat steep staircase leads to two bedrooms. Despite the house’s age, it heats up well. The yard is shared with the host, and occasionally we have campers in the garden.

Nature and surroundings

You’re more than welcome to explore the historic grounds, with their hedges, fruit trees, berry garden, and wildflowers. There’s a barn owl nesting in the ridge of the barn; the area is teeming with birds, and we occasionally get visits from foxes, polecats, and hedgehogs. If you cross the dike, you’ll find yourself right in the floodplains of the IJssel Valley. Deventer is just a 15-minute bike ride away, and you can ride or cycle endlessly along the winding dike. If you’re in the mood for the woods, the Veluwe is just a half-hour drive away.

A warm welcome. Beautiful location, but not suitable for people over 70 because of the stairs leading upstairs,

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

It's a nice little house. But the stairs to the bedrooms are a bit of a challenge if you have to go to the bathroom a lot during the night. .
Here's a tip from us: In at least one of the two bedrooms, set up two separate beds instead of a double bed.

The surrounding garden is especially lovely.
Close to the IJssel River and walking trails, biking paths, etc. Four days isn't enough.
