Nature and surroundings
Abroad is just around the corner. In 45 driving minutes you can be in the Ardennes from Maastricht or Aachen. The Belgian Ardennes have a lot to offer in terms of nature and culture. Sports enthusiasts can go hiking, biking and in the -sometimes harsh- winter cross-country skiing. Le Grand Aleff is located in the epicenter of the Ardennes: the rolling countryside just south of Malmedy and east of Stavelot. Malmedy is a French-speaking Ost canton. The area abuts the High Fens, a unique nature reserve. Around Le Grand Aleff, meadows and forests alternate. It is therefore the place for hiking and cycling. For mountain bikers, routes of all gradations have been set out. (Racing) cyclists can indulge themselves on the road. Here steep climbs are the rule rather than the exception. Quiet cycling is also possible. Hundreds of flat kilometers on the RAVeLs - the tracks of former railroad lines - have been laid out in eastern Belgium. There are facilities for e-bikers.

Nature, peace & environment:We found it a cozy accommodation i.t.t. and earlier review. The bathroom is complete, small but nice, the wooden trusses in combination with the mud walls gave it an authentic character. Breakfast / dinner were tasteful and ample. We just took the running on for granted. The conversations with the owners were a feast of recognition. All in all highly recommended.
This text is automatically translated. -

Nature, peace & environment:Lamomriville 8, Malmedy November 2-8, 2025 2 persons, 2 small dogs Stayed in ' family room' in the attic Unfortunately a large number of shortcomings: Front door was hugely run on, so you could hardly get through. Bringing luggage inside almost cost you your back. Wet-cell (term bathroom does not deserve it) was bad. No outlet for toiletries, the sink was so small that it was impossible to wash at it. The door was not properly lockable; there was no comfort at all. Only a very small table with three upright kitchen chairs in the room. It was not possible to sit (read). People were nice.

Nature, peace & environment:The location of the cottage is perfect with stunning views. We had a wonderful meal at the cottage and had nice conversations with the owners.
