Our cottage is located just 5 km from historic Bad Karlshafen. This charming town, is known for its baroque architecture, spa and Huguenot history. Enjoy cafes, stores and a serene atmosphere here. Helmarshausen itself has a rich medieval history with an 11th-century monastery and historic ruins. 15 km away is the enchanting Reinhardswald Forest, known as Germany's fairytale forest, with Sababurg, the "Fairytale Castle" that inspired "Sleeping Beauty. Canoeing on the Diemel offers a unique experience past historical sites such as Trendelburg and Wülmersen water castle or explore the picturesque Weserbergland with rolling hills and dense forests. The Weserradweg, a bicycle path from Bad Karlshafen to Höxter, offers many picturesque stops. Close by is the Naturpark Solling-Vogler, known for untouched forests.
