Nature house in Gorssel

We are very dissatisfied with the value for money of this cottage. The house doesn’t match the photos. It feels like a Tinder date where you discover that the photo of the person you’re meeting is from ten years ago. It’s basically a beautiful place, but it gives off a “worn-out” impression. We noticed a lack of maintenance both inside and out. Upon arrival, it hadn’t been cleaned properly—there was grass growing through the wooden beds and a broken light fixture. Inside, there were cobwebs and dirty spots everywhere. There were non-perishable food items, many of which were past their expiration dates. For a three-week stay, we were provided with only two towels and one set of bedding. That issue was resolved, as was arranging for some extra cleaning, but communicating with the landlord was difficult and frustrating. He thought we were just complainers and even suggested that we should just cancel. And that on the very first day of our vacation.

We zijn zeer ontevreden over de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding van dit huisje. Het huis matcht niet met de foto’s. Het voelt als een Tinder-date waarbij je ontdekt dat de foto van degene die je ontmoet van tien jaar geleden is. In de basis wel een prachtige plek, maar het geeft een ‘versleten’ indruk. Wij zien achterstallig onderhoud binnen en buiten. Bij aankomst was er niet goed schoongemaakt, grasgroei door de houten bedjes en kapotte lamp. Binnen overal spinnenwebben en vieze plekken. Er stonden houdbare etenswaren waarvan een groot deel over de datum. Voor 3 weken hadden we 2 handdoeken en 1 set beddengoed. Dat is opgelost, evenals een deel extra schoonmaak, maar contact met de verhuurder was stroef en moeizaam. Hij vond ons klagers en stelde zelfs voor dat we maar moesten annuleren. En dat op de eerste dag van je vakantie.

The cottage is surrounded by a house behind it and vegetation. The area is quite peaceful. There is little to no noise from a nearby cottage, the adjacent sports fields, or a swimming pool. There were two of us, but we don’t think it’s suitable for five adults. The bed upstairs is a single unit and would be a tight fit for three adults. The bed downstairs is fine and spacious. The swimming pond is wonderful. The cottage is compact (everything is laid out lengthwise). Unfortunately, there’s hardly any storage space. There are no screens on the doors, so insects can easily get inside.
The surroundings are beautiful, and Gorssel itself is charming. You can also go for lovely walks in the nearby woods.

Het huisje ligt omsloten door een woning achter het pand en begroeiing. De omgeving is behoorlijk rustig. Weinig tot geen geluid van een nabij liggend huisje, naastgelegen sportvelden en een zwembad. Wij waren met 2, maar vinden het niet geschikt voor 5 volwassenen. Het bed boven is 1 geheel en voor 3 volwassenen wel krap. Het bed beneden is prima en ruim. De zwemvijver is heerlijk. Het huis is compact (alles in de lengte). Helaas is er nauwelijks opbergruimte. Er zijn geen horren voor de deuren, dus komen insecten gemakkelijk binnen.
De omgeving is prachtig, Gorssel zelf is leuk. Ook kun je mooi wandelen in de bossen in de buurt.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place. The vacation home was fantastic—cozy, comfortable, and truly equipped with every amenity. Our dogs had a wonderful time, too; the spacious yard is a true paradise for them to explore.

The swimming pond was an absolute bonus. It was wonderfully refreshing on hot days, but even on a less sunny day, it’s a pleasure to watch and listen to the soothing water. The location, surrounded by greenery, makes the picture complete.

The mattresses and pillows also deserve a compliment. We slept wonderfully—and that’s something you don’t find just anywhere. In short, a fantastic place where both people and pets can enjoy themselves to the fullest. We’d love to come back again!

We hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf op deze prachtige plek. Het vakantiehuis was fantastisch, sfeervol, comfortabel en werkelijk van alle gemakken voorzien. Ook onze honden hebben zich uitstekend vermaakt, de ruime tuin is een waar snuffelparadijs.

De zwemvijver was een absolute meerwaarde. Heerlijk verkoelend op warme dagen, maar ook op een minder zonnige dag is het een genot om naar het rustgevende water te kijken en te luisteren. De ligging, midden in het groen, maakt het plaatje helemaal compleet.

Ook de matrassen en kussens verdienen een compliment. Ze sliepen heerlijk, en dat kom je lang niet overal tegen. Kortom, een geweldige plek waar zowel mens als dier volop kan genieten. Wij komen graag nog eens terug!
