~ We’re celebrating our 1-year anniversary! ~ Want to get some fresh air on the seawall? Enjoy the view and the wildlife roaming freely in the fields? Love walking or biking along the salty path? You can do all that here in Klooster-Lidlum. Starting in December 2024, our self-built guesthouse (100 m²) will be available—formerly the coach house attached to the farm. We designed the building with excellent (wheelchair) accessibility in mind. Everything is on one level and features underfloor heating. You can sleep in the cozy box bed or in one of the electrically adjustable beds. All beds are extra-long. Bedding, towels, and kitchen linens are all included. The detached cottage is energy-neutral and features a fully equipped kitchen with a rapid-filter coffee maker. You can also book a one-night stay with us, except during holiday periods. Discounts apply to multi-night bookings. We hope to welcome you to hospitable Friesland. Who knows—maybe we’ll see you soon? Kees and Suzanna
Nature and surroundings
Klooster-lidlum is the smallest village in the municipality of Waadhoeke, located near the university town of Franeker. For birdwatchers, the Wadden Sea, with its salt marshes, offers a wide variety of birds, including migratory species. On clear days, you can see the Dutch islands from the seawall. From Harlingen, the islands of Terschelling and Vlieland make for wonderful day trips. Klooster-Lidlum is located at a cycling junction and close to the start of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. Long-distance hikers are also welcome guests here. Franeker is a cultural highlight, featuring the Martena Museum, the Planetarium, and various festivals. You’ll find good restaurants and charming shops here, all within a 6-km radius.

We had everything we needed.
Voor ons ontbrak er niets.
Imagine vast meadows, miles of unobstructed views, and a road reserved for local traffic.
That means peace, space, and nature wherever you look.Neem in gedachte uitgestrekte weilanden, kilometers vrij uitzicht en een weg voor bestemmingsverkeer.
Dan heb je dus rust, ruimte en natuur waar je ook kijkt. This text is automatically translated. -

A beautiful, new little house with all the bells and whistles.
Mooi, nieuw huisje met alles er op en er aan.
So vast, green, and peaceful
Zo weids, groen en rustig
