The nature house is located in the rear garden pond of the old inn on the Wohldenberg (now a residential building) next to a meadow orchard. Originally - more than 100 years ago - the octagonal cottage was a bandstand. Later, it was increasingly used by guests for tea drinking. A few years ago, we converted it into a home. The bedroom and living room are equipped with a cosy wood-burning stove. It is a place where you can really enjoy being alone and being together. Families or groups of up to 4 people can also rent the neighbouring log cabin. There is also plenty to experience in the surrounding area. Wohldenberg Castle is a 10-minute walk away. From the 32-metre-high tower (donjon), which is open to the public, you can look far into nature. The leisure park (with environmental education) and Derneburg Castle (with art museum) are 2 and 6 kilometers away respectively. Hildesheim and the Harz Mountains are also not far away.
Nature and surroundings
The Wohldenberg is forested. The forest consists mainly of centuries-old copper beeches, hornbeams and oaks. Some areas are designated as natural forests and are not used for long-term ecological forest development. The area at the foot of the Wohldenberg is characterized by the wide valley of the Nette and the tributary valleys of the Beffer and the Sennebach. The watercourses predominantly have near-natural water structures. In some places in the Sennebach, fossils are easy to find.
