Our house is an old barn dating from 1930, renovated 6 years ago, part of an old farm; the house is in the countryside, away from all major roads, it is a place where it is good to rest and enjoy the calm of our beautiful countryside. We've kept the charm of the old house, but renovated it with noble materials and soberly decorated it so that everyone can feel at home. The stone construction keeps the house cool during the hot summer months, and provides comfort when the wood-burning stove is lit in winter. A very large room on the ground floor allows everyone to have their own space, the kitchen is equipped with top-of-the-range appliances, you'll find 5 bedrooms (one of which is on the ground floor) 2 shower rooms (one of which is on the ground floor) 2 WCs (one of which is on the ground floor). A large wooden terrace at the rear of the house gives access to the heated swimming pool (June to September), with a beautiful view over the Limousin countryside.
Nature and surroundings
Our house is located in an unspoilt environment, far from roads and towns, 25 minutes from Limoges (200,000 inhabitants), and closer to Saint Léonard de Noblat (5,000 inhabitants), where you'll find all the local shops. The "countryside" setting is ideal for hiking, cycling (Saint Léonard is the birthplace of Raymond POULIDOR) and mountain biking, as well as water sports. There are many lakes here, including Lac de Vassivière, one of the largest in France. Cultural activities are also plentiful, with Porcelain art (Limoges), Museums, Castles, remarkable natural sites and the famous site of Oradour sur Glane. The house is located in the "Monts et barrages" region, so come and take a breath of fresh air in the countryside!
