Nature house in Castelnau-Barbarens

This beautiful nature house is a farmhouse in the Gers. The authentic Maison de Maître can accommodate up to 9 people and is situated atop a ridge with a view (on a clear day) of the Pyrenees. Ideal for nature lovers, those seeking peace and quiet, and hikers. The nature house has recently been completely redecorated and features 4 spacious bedrooms and a 5th small bedroom with a separate entrance, toilet, and sink. There is a spacious bathroom on both the first and second floors, and a separate toilet downstairs. Downstairs, you’ll also find a well-equipped and spacious kitchen with a separate dining room, a living room with a fireplace, a game room, and a large garage. In front of the house is a covered terrace with lounge chairs; behind the house is a large terrace with a big dining table and direct access to the private pool. Surrounding the 100% organic farm, you’ll find alfalfa, grain, sunflower, and rapeseed fields, and two private forests. We also have a lovely private lake next to the pool where you can swim and fish (for carp). In one of the forests, we’ve set up a picnic area for you, where you can barbecue or simply relax around a campfire. In those same forests, you can go hiking, mountain biking, or jogging. You’ll almost never run into anyone there, except perhaps a deer or a hare. Directly from the farm, you have access to well-marked hiking and mountain biking trails. You’ll experience 100% peace and quiet during your stay. Thanks to the rural surroundings, the starry sky is breathtaking. If you’re in the mood for a bit of excitement, you can visit weekly markets and local festivals. Some highlights include the famous Jazz In Marciac festival in late July/mid-August. The large market in Samatan on Mondays, featuring geese, rabbits, and other animals, is also highly recommended.
