Take off and fly into the distance like an eagle, that's the feeling this place exudes above the sea. Surrounded by an extensive park above the small village of Cobreces, 30 minutes from Santander, 15 minutes on foot to one of the most beautiful beaches in Cantabria on the Atlantic. The place: quiet, peaceful, a fountain gurgles in the Zen garden, sun loungers invite you to relax, you can enjoy an aperitif on the terrace by the sea, have breakfast under a canopy on the south-facing terrace and listen to the song of the wren that nests here. Comfortable beds in the 4 bedrooms contribute to deep relaxation, one double bed can be split into 2 single beds. The three daylight bathrooms are large. The house is furnished with beautiful furniture. Carpets and art. A library offers plenty of reading material. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is WIFI and an extensive movie library and an entpr. DVD recorder.
Nature and surroundings
Enchanting villages, no built-up beaches, authentic Spain. The Stone Age caves of Altamira are nearby, as is a spectacular museum in Santillana. The Way of St. James runs through the village. With bicycles (rental in Comillas) you can explore many paths and also go hiking in the mountains. There are good fish restaurants in San Vicente de la Barquera. Cobreces is the seat of a monastery that is still inhabited, and the most beautiful beach is a quarter of an hour's walk away. There are two organic food stores in Cabezon de la Sal. Santander is 40 minutes away, Bilbao 1.5 hours. The airport is in Bilbao. In the valley of Cabuerniga, 30 min. away, there are charming villages and some very good restaurants. In Oyambre, surfers have secured the beach and in the evenings they meet on the nearby hill in the bar "El Rayo Verde" for a sundowner. From there you can see the entire coast as far as the Picos de Europa in the Cantabrian Mountains (2 hours by car).
