Just a stone’s throw from the former Dijksterhuis manor, just outside Pieterburen, we’ve built a wooden cottage. With kilometers of unobstructed views of the dike, people say it feels like you’ve ended up at the end of the world. The cottage has 2 bedrooms, and 4 of the 5 beds are extra-long. Bedding and kitchen linens are included; please bring your own bath towels. The kitchen is simple but fully equipped. It features a kettle, a Nespresso machine, a drip coffee maker, an induction cooktop, a fridge-freezer, and a microwave. Everything runs on 100% green energy. The adjacent shipping container has been converted into a wellness area featuring a very spacious Finnish sauna, an infrared sauna, a rain shower, a plunge pool, and lounge chairs on the wooden deck. Use of these facilities is included in the price. For €7.50 per person, you can rent a sauna robe and a hammam towel. Using the sauna in this unique setting is a truly relaxing experience!
Nature and surroundings
A mixture of grains and flowers has been sown on the land in front of the cottage. In winter, the seeds provide food for field birds. Animals pass by regularly: roe deer, hares, pheasants, and many other birds. The sunset is different every day, and the cloud formations are vast and impressive. Pieterburen is known for its seals, mudflat hiking, and the Pieterpad, but there are also many hiking, biking, and canoeing trails in the surrounding area.

A lovely little house with a stunning view, a nice sauna, a friendly owner, and plenty to do in the area.

A lovely cottage in a charming setting. The cottage is located on the edge of a farmyard and overlooks a patch of flower and grassland teeming with flowers, insects, and animals. The farm was in full swing when we were there (harvest time), and that really added to the experience. It’s nice to see how business, nature, and tourism can come together. The farm cat was also a big hit with my daughters.
Near the cottage is a converted shipping container housing a sauna with a beautiful view of the setting sun. The container also has a very nice shower, which we used frequently.

Vlakbij het huisje staat een verbouwde zeecontainer met daarin een sauna met prachtig zicht op de ondergaande zon. In de container zit ook hele fijne douche. Hier hebben wij veel gebruik van gemaakt.
In de omgeving is voldoende te doen om ons (2 volwassenen, 3 tieners) te vermaken: wadlopen vanuit Pieterburen, een bezoekje aan Groningen, fietsen langs verschillende dorpjes in de buurt, hardlopen langs de akkers, het Pieterpad, etc. We hebben ons absoluut niet verveeld, sterker nog, ik heb maar de helft van de highlights in de omgeving kunnen bezoeken.This text is automatically translated. -
