Nature house in Castellazo

Nestled in its own little valley by the remote village of Castellazo lies the cosy cabin, the only rental on this ancient farmstead. Surrounded by woodland and mountains, this is the perfect retreat to get away from the stresses of modern life. This 25 square metre cabin is ideal for a family of 4 or for 2 adults. Power is provided by an off grid solar system and there is mains water. An automated gas boiler provides hot water. The bathroom features a shower and flushing toilet. The kitchenette has a 2-burner hob, fridge and sink. The compact design allows for a separate bedroom with a double bed and bunk beds which are full sized singles. Good quality bedding and towels are provided. There are games for the children and seating inside as well as out. The cabin is set in the dappled shade of hills and trees and the alfresco dining is a delight. The sounds of nature are all around and at night you can enjoy the incredible star lit sky.

The hills around the cabin are filled with ancient fossils. Oak trees and wild herbs such as lavender, thyme, rosemary and juniper grow in abundance. The cabin is located on the edge of the Sierra & Canyons of Guara nature reserve. The Ordesa National Park lies to the north. Ainsa is a 30 min drive away and has been voted the most charming medieval town in Spain by National Geographic. The river at Boltaña is a popular place to visit and cool down in the hot summer months. There are also swimming pools nearby. Local walks are on your doorstep and the Camino de Santiago passes through the nearby village of Arcusa. For sports enthusiasts there are plenty of activities which can include children, such as white water rafting, kayaking and canyoning offered nearby. A short walk to the top of the village brings you to an Albergue with a terrace looking over a magnificent vista of the Pyrenees. Neighbouring villages also offer traditional Spanish food, just a short drive away.
