With a spacious living room, open kitchen, 5/6 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, this is the ideal home for all generations. The perfect vacation home for a week or weekend away with grandparents, children and grandchildren. With 3 bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor and a spacious family room, a "master bedroom" and a bathroom upstairs. From the open plan kitchen and living area you step through the sliding doors into the spacious south facing garden. A wonderful place to relax, socialize, barbecue and for children to play in. On the field opposite the house is a small playground. Behind the house is a shed to store your own (electric) bikes during your stay. Gaastmeer is the perfect water sports location and you can come to us to rent a polyvalk, randmeer or sloop. This can be for a day, half a day or the entire vacation period. This also applies to renting bicycles.
Nature and surroundings
Centrally located in the Frisian lake district; Gaastmeer is located between several lakes such as the Heegermeer, the Fluessen and the Grote Gaastmeer. But also near the IJsselmeer. This not only offers beautiful sailing and boating routes, but because of this it is also a beautiful area with many cycling and walking routes along these lakes. Gaastmeer is located on the road between Oudega and Heeg, about 15 minutes drive from Sneek. For cars it stops in Gaastmeer and you can only return via the same road. Miranda September 5, 2025 General rating:The house is for 12 people, but rather for 8/10 adults and 2 children. There is not enough seating in the living room in bad weather. The house could use some attention here and there regarding cleaning (windows, shower door) also missing a mirror in the upstairs bathroom. We found the owner very unfriendly when we called that we were missing 3 fitted sheets for double beds. Finally, there could be more closet space for storing clothes!
Het huis is voor 12 personen, maar eerder voor 8/10 volwassenen en 2 kinderen. Er is bij slecht weer te weinig zitruimte in de woonkamer. Het huis kan hier en daar wel wat aandacht gebruiken m.b.t. schoonmaken (ramen, douchedeur) tevens mist er een spiegel in de badkamer boven. Wij vonden de eigenaar erg onvriendelijk toen we belden dat we 3 hoeslakens voor 2-persoonsbedden misten. De meneer in het restaurant was daarentegen erg behulpzaam!
Tenslotte zou er wel wat meer kastruimte mogen zijn, voor het opbergen van kleding!Nature, peace & environment:The house is in a nice place near the little harbor. From there it is very nice to walk into the village or to the little beach.

We only missed closet space, there wasn't any....there are some drawers in some rooms, not all of them either, and luckily we were only a weekend, but should you go with the whole family for a week, living out of the suitcase/bag for a week is rather inconvenient in our opinion.
Het is een 9 en geen 10 omdat het bijna perfect was. We misten alleen kastruimte, die was er niet....er zijn wat laatjes in sommige kamers, ook niet allemaal, en gelukkig waren wij maar een weekendje, maar mocht je met de hele familie een week gaan is een week uit de koffer/tas leven toch wel onhandig ons inziens.
Nature, peace & environment:Beautiful small park with lots of peace, lovely close to the water with a small harbor where there is plenty to see and do, and a playground opposite. Nicely furnished and clean cottage with many comforts, both inside and outside. Lovely to sit outside on the benches, or all together at the long table enjoying a Bbq from the Kamado!
Prachtig kleinschalig park met veel rust, heerlijk dichtbij het water met een haventje waar genoeg te zien en te doen is, en een speeltuintje tegenover. Mooi ingericht en schoon huisje met veel comfort, zowel binnen als buiten. Heerlijk om buiten op de banken te zitten, of met z'n allen aan de lange tafel genietend van een Bbq van de Kamado!
