Nature house in Saint Georges

Despite its rather small size, the cottage left a positive impression on us

The hosts are nice people who speak English very well because of their nationality. The cottage was very clean and tidy when we arrived. It was quite small in terms of space. You had to move things around every now and then—for example, to be able to enjoy a nice breakfast in the living room. Still, it had everything you need for an overnight stay with breakfast. The cottage is suitable for a short stay of a few nights. For a longer period, it’s actually a bit too cramped. Behind the cottage is a very large garden with all kinds of seating areas. We really enjoyed sitting there. Another minor drawback is that you have to park your car about 40 meters away on the street, near the church. Fortunately, upon arrival, we were allowed to park our car briefly under the entrance gate to the courtyard so we could unload our luggage.

However, we’d just like to clarify for future guests that you booked our B&B room, not a cottage. We rent it on a bed-and-breakfast basis, but with its own entrance and additional amenities (mini-fridge, dishes, tea and coffee making facilities, table and chairs), it offers our guests more independence and privacy. De verhuurders zijn aardige mensen, die vanwege hun nationaliteit zeer goed Engels spreken. Het huisje was bij onze aankomst zeer schoon en netjes. Het huisje was behoorlijk klein qua ruimte. Je moest af en toe wat verplaatsen, om bijvoorbeeld in de kamer het lekkere ontbijt te kunnen nuttigen. Toch was op zich alles aanwezig, wat je voor een overnachting met ontbijt nodig hebt. Voor een kort verblijf van enige nachten is het huisje wel geschikt. Voor een langere periode is het eigenlijk net te krap. Achter het huisje bevindt zich een heel grote tuin, met allerlei zitjes. We hebben daar heerlijk zitten genieten. Een klein nadeel is ook dat je de auto ongeveer 40 meter verderop op straat, ter hoogte van de kerk, moet parkeren. Gelukkig mochten we bij aankomst onze auto even onder de toegangspoort van de binnenplaats parkeren, zodat we onze overnachtingsspullen konden uitladen.

Lovely little cottage, surprisingly cool during the heat wave. Fully equipped, small but cozy.

Heerlijk huisje, verrassend koel in de hittegolf. Van alle gemakken voorzien, klein maar fijn.
