Find peace, space and nature in Southeast Friesland. Our vacation home is the perfect place to stay, unwind and enjoy. This new vacation home (built in 2024) is located in the yard of our house, and is situated in the back part of the barn. Upon entering the vacation home you are directly in the living room with kitchen equipped with all amenities. Such as dishwasher, combination microwave, induction hob, Coffee machine. On the ground floor is a bedroom with a lovely 2 person box spring. The bathroom and toilet are also on the ground floor. Upstairs are two bedrooms, 1 bedroom with 2 single box spring beds and 1 bedroom with a single box spring. The beds are made upon arrival, at no extra charge! Our cottage is suitable for five people, is air-conditioned, electricity is generated by solar panels. Be welcome!
Nature and surroundings
You can discover the beautiful Frisian Woods from our vacation home while cycling and walking. So you find yourself in the forest and so you come out on the Duurswouderheide, our front yard. The largest moorland of Friesland with pingo ruins (pools formed in the ice age). In the immediate vicinity are several nature reserves, such as the already mentioned Duurswouderheide, the Old Bosch with the Freulevijver and the sand dunes of Bakkeveen. National parks are also nearby. The Drents-Friese Wold, the Alde Feanen, the Drentsche Aa. All within 30 km distance.Cities such as Leeuwarden, Groningen, Dokkum, Drachten are easily accessible, but also Beetsterzwaag, with historic buildings where the nobility lived. Now there are galleries, fine restaurants and the golf resort of Lauswolt. In the vicinity are a swimming pool, trampoline park, maze park, miniature golf course, watchtower, bicycle rental, E-chopper rental, canoe rental, possibility of horseback riding. Electric car charging station 200 meters away.
